Great win. Couldn't see it but when it's a win it hurts less. Had all the things you would want to see. A Wang win, Arod Rbi, a H for Chamberlain and a S for Rivera. Good defense and even a HR. A lot of people are picking Halladay to be the AL Cy Young winner this year so that makes it even nicer.

Amazing that the Yankees play 20 days straight (33 out of 34) to start off the season including a stretch where they play 11 of 13 on the road. This is usually when you don't even need a 5th starter because of all the off days. This is one year we really can't get bitten by the injury bug early on like we were last year.

Nice opener, Wang wasn't at his best but it's important Pettitte, Wang and Mussina give us as many innings as possible as the 2 young guys will not be able to go deep into games too often so Wang going 7 is a perfect outing and it was nice to win the last home opener at the current Stadium.

Mussina is in a contract year. Maybe he will let it all hang out today and get his fastball up to 75 MPH.

He was much better than I thought possible after the way he looked in spring training. Toronto is a pretty good team and if he can keep good teams to two runs we will be in good shape when he is on the mound.

Even if Giambi has a good year?

Who do we have to take over at first?

    Heh, I'd be ecstatic.

But didn't he just get a new deal from Philly?

Besides, I'd rather have Pujols.

Howard would be awesome but he wont be a FA until 2010 or something. The phillies keep reupping his 1 year deals and he really has no choice. Now he has arbitration rights but still hes not free to go to other teams.

We don't need high priced guys at every position. I am sure we can find a good defensive 1B, we have enough offense. I'd rather have a Mientkewicz type starting at 1B than Giambi.

    That sucks.

If the damned Mets or Braves could just stomp all over Philly maybe we can finagle a trade deadline deal to bring him north.

But I'd still rather have Pujols.

We'll probably be after Mark Teixeira.

Here's a better name to dwell on. Teixiera. The only problem being Boras as his agent. He hasn't signed an extension with the Braves and I'm sure he won't let him do that.

Edit..oops, sorry Future. Didn't see your post before making mine.

Posada out with stiff right shoulder. Girardi said it's nothing serious, just being cautious, he's day-to-day.
