Screw Parcells. He already left the team once, and he won't stay long a second time. Get somone that's going to provide some continuity.
espn just said that tanny is willing to share his gm job with cowher ....hoot hoot hoot....show him the money:wink:
Schefter on NFLN keeps saying "I don't know how much clearer I can be...Bill Cowher will not be coaching in 2009". He's pretty adamant about it and unlike ESPN, he's usually pretty accurate. I don't know what to believe anymore to be honest.
Clayton on ESPN writes a pretty convincing article about how Cowher's a good fit in Denver. But then again, Clayton's an utter dorkwad, so you know.
Schefter could of talked to Cowher and he could of told him he wasn't coming back, but until Cowher sits down with Woody and Tan and then says that he won't be coaching the speculation will continue.
Cowher Is Coming To Jets!!! According to a source at CBS Sports, Bill Cowher is headed to the Jets. A major stumbling block was personnel control, but apparently Mike Tannenbaum is willing to relinquish that. Cowher will name his own personnel director as well as have final say on draft picks. Cowher has two daughters, one of whom works in Manhattan, and the other a student at Princeton, about an hour drive from both Manhattan and Florham Park, the Jets training camp.
............. Go swim in your money, Daddy Warbucks, there's a thread that has all of that reported in it like 50 times.
I predicted this as early as this morning. It sounded like a done deal and we just didn't know it yet. But tell me, if this is true, how are the Jets going to get around the requirement to interview a minority candidate? Wouldn't hiring Cowher at this time violate NFL rules?
It would really suck to be the candidate who the Jets bring in just to fulfill that requirement, if the whole world already knows they're hiring Cowher.
Favre will be back for sure now. He'd never pass up the opportunity to play for Cowher. Two SB winners trying to win one more for both gippers.
This can't be true. The Jets have not fulfilled the Rooney Rule yet. And there is nothing on any sports website.
