All that needs to happen is an injury to Shonn Greene and the door becomes wide open for Bilal Powell.

Powell is a 4th round rookie.

    Let's not crown him immediately.

McKnight will get the carries over Powell.

I'm gonna go outside the box just for fun.

    Logan Payne.

He caught me and my dads eye during practice yesterday. I know he has been in and out of the league to start his career but he displayed really nice hands and pretty good route running. this is a long shot because he would need to beat out someone like Turner for the 5th wr spot but this is a true sleeper.

I disagree. McKnight's not a pounder. I feel like Powell was drafted for the sole purpose of being Greene's back-up.

McKnight is a situational back, Powell is a possible feature back, so I disagree...

No one is crowning him. People were stating that he could come in if Greene were injured...which is true. I don't know if he'll be active unless he grabs a ST spot.

That's where my heads at - he's not going to dress unless he's playing kick coverage.

    RB roles
    1. Shonn Greene = our workhorse who gets the majority of the early down work
    2. LaDainian Tomlinson = our 3rd down back who also becomes primary back in the 2-minute drill
    3. Joe McKnight = LT's back-up for the 3rd down role and our change-of-pace back (on top of his multiple roles on special teams)
    4. Bilal Powell = inactive UNLESS Greene goes down for a significant amount of time, in which case he becomes our primary ball-carrier on early downs

Two things are important to note. Firstly, Joe McKnight is going to be on the field a lot as he arguably has more roles than any of our other running backs. Secondly, if Powell has a big pre-season (which I think he will) he's going to be first in line for early-down carries if Greene goes down with a significant injury. That's my prediction.

    I'd say Kerley and Westerman.

I agreed until we got to Powell. If Greene goes down, at best Powell becomes a change of pace back, as McKnight and LT become the 2 primaries.

It wasnt like we drafted this guy in the first or 2nd round, we gotta ease him into the transition and make sure he most importantly can hold onto the damn ball

We'll see. Powell's probably not going to have a role on special teams so his spot on the active roster is iffy.

It does sound unlikely but it's just my big prediction for the season.

When youre the primary back on a run first team with the potential for 300 + carries, its a possibility.

Has nothing to do with thinking hes fragile, just has to do with the fact that hes going to get into more collisions (esp being a physical back) than 99.9% of the players in the nfl
