Jamaal Westerman? Calvin Pace lowest 40 time = 4.65 Jamaal Westerman (who is 5 years younger) low 40 = 4.68 Kay, done.
Matt Slauson. He's improved every week he's been here, where I think he can be a reliable force. He's going to be in tough when the Pats line up Haynesworth side-by-side with Wilfork, but it seems Callahan has immense confidence in him.
This is a no brainer: Cotch! Everybody is forgetting about him. He's a rock-solid slot receiver, and can do damage if healthy.
Cotch would be an especially impressive sleeper since there's a chance he's not on the team this year.
I am rooting for K. Ellis. he could be that mean man in the middle we need to collapse o-lines I also like B. Powell, I am hoping he can return kicks and make an impact on special teams, although I do not recall him doing much of that at Louisville. He can also be fresh legs out of the backfield. Man I can't wait for the preseason games so we can see some of these players.
I doubt Bilal Powell gets much work until late in the season. LT, Greene, and McKnight will all get touches before him. Of course, there's always a chance of Greene leaving a game with a small injury - Powell could step in during a situation like that.
The you're crazy... the only reason we let Coleman go is because he got (relatively) big money from the Jaguars...
Ropati Pitoitua will be a manbeast if healthy... The guy is too big to not reek havoc... Also I am pulling for K Dub to stand out this year. Westerman will be a special teams beast this year and I can see him making some timely plays on D as well.
Unless Powell carves out a space on ST from one of the vacated spots, we probably won't activate more than the 4 backs we carried most of last season. TRich frees up a space for McKnight, but Powell would have to occupy Smith or Laury's roster spot. EDIT: Although, with the end of the 3rd QB rule and expansion of the active roster, we may keep McElroy deactivated and add a roster spot that way.
If given the opportunity, Kerley is going to surprise. Kerley is an excellent KR/PR and could be a nice safety value for Sanchez in the slot. Schotty is a big fan of Kerley and he should get him in the offense.
I actually think a lot of people have higher expectations for Kerley than your average 5th rounder. With Cotchery on the block, and the comments from Jets West, it seems like the team feels he can step quickly into the slot and contribute there and as a KR.
1. Ropati Pitoitua - if the ACL is not an issue. He's a lot younger than Jenkins, so it is less likely to be torn again. 2. Dark McKnight, not Light McKnight - He was out of shape coming into the season last year, and didn't realize how much more difficult it was to play in the league vs. the pac 10. He's recommitted this year and will show it if greene gets banged up or just out of the backfield on some reggie bush type plays 3. Cro - He's got a shitload to prove after a mediocre year last year (too many penalties and a few notable burns.) Year 2 in the system and he's got some stability with his contract 4. Sanchez - He'll have a much better completion percentage and the td/int ratio will go over 20 and under 12...something like 26 and 10 or 24 and 11. The addition of plexiglass will be a driving force in this. (Cro and sanchez aren't really sleepers, but they will improve drastically)
