Coach: Rex Ryan QB: Chad Pennington RB: Curtis Martin FB: Tony Richardson TE: Dustin Keller WR: Wayne Chrebet OL: Kevin Mawae DT/NT: Big Jenks DE: John Abraham LB: John Vilma CB: Darelle Revis S: Victor Green
juicy one, but i'm going to go abit more indepth I think, aka Truely go position to position. My age will show abit here I'm afraid. QB Joe Willie Namath, no competition here at this time. RB (formerly Halfback) Emerson Boozer FB John Riggins TE Richard Caster (This may change by years end) WR Don Maynard (this was a tough choice for me, so I went with my childhood favorite) Center Kevin Mawae Tackle Gotta go with Namaths Jets here, The Beast Winston Hill. Guard, tough choice but going with my boys, Dave Herman. Defense. DT Gotta be Klecko. DE, Not mark, great DE, head case. My choice is Gerry Philbin. OLB, Larry Grantham ILB Al atkinson or Mo Lewis. CB I gotta go with Revis, but a very honorable mention to Aaron Glenn S going old school here, Billy Baird. K Pat Leahy, honorable mention to Bobby Howry. P Curly Johnson (only decent punter I can remember the Jets having) (edit) I have seen all these guys play and did collect their cards when they were still active with the Jets...granted I was 8 years old at the time but.....
This list is favorite, that does not mean best. HC: Bill Parcells QB: Chad Pennington RB: Freeman McNeil WRs: Al Toon, Keyshawn Johnson TE: Mickey Shuler OL: Kevin Mawae DE: Mark Gastineau DT: Joe Klecko OLB: Mo Lewis ILB: Marvin Jones CB: James Hasty S: Victor Green K: Jay Feeley P: Tom Tupa
I wonder of Vic realizes how much the fans loved him. He seems to be the guy on everybody's list. He's probably one of my alltime favs overall, just a real hard nosed player.
I think so, he was an active player in 2003 and came back to take part in the all time team ceremony so I think he gets it.
I still don't understand why they got rid of him at the time. I don't remember the circumstances, just remember that I did not like it. Victor was a rock in that secondary.
I've seen all of those guys also, so not surprisingly my list is similar to yours. I would make the following changes, however, assuming the list is best, not favorite: RB: Gotta go with Curtis Martin - he was better than Boozer, and also had a much bigger impact (Boozer only averaged 11 carries per game). TE: Never was a Caster fan - he dropped way too many passes for my taste. I go with with Mickey Shuler here. S: Baird was good, but I do think Victor Green was a little better. K: No love for Jim Turner?
My first lost was favorite, here is my best(that I have seen, 1981-current): QB: Chad(best season was Vinny 1998) RB: Curtis TE: Shuler WRs: Toon, Keyshawn OL: Mawae, Mangold, Marvin Powell DE: Gastineau DTs: Klecko, Jenkins LBs: Mo, Harris, Mehl CBs: Revis, Hasty S': Green, Darrol Ray K: Feely P: Tupa HC: Parcells
Man we even agree on Gasteneau, I loved to hate him but at the end of the day he was so much fun to watch. I don't know if it was the steroids or the stupidity but he was a great guy to watch when he showed up.
Quarterback: Ken O'brien Halfback: Curtis Martin Wide Reciever: Rob Moore Tight End: Dustin Keller OT: Brick C: Joe fields(We've had alot of good ones) DE: Shaun Ellis DT: Marty Lyons OLB: Mo Lewis MLB: Lance Mehl CB: Aaron Glenn S: Victor Green K: Pat Leahy P: Tom Tupa
Great pass rusher but he wasn't great all around. I loved him as a kid but realizing now how much his teammates hated him and how selfish he was I don't like him as much but he was still a great pass rusher.
QB - Ken O'brien, Namath RB - Freeman Mcneil, Curtis Martin FB - Richie Anderson OL - Mangold, Powell, Mawae WR -Toon, Walker TE - Shuler DL - Klecko, Gastineau, Salaam, Lyons LB - Mehl, Buttle, Harris, Clifton CB - Revis, Holmes S - Green, Ray K - Leahy P - Tupa KR - Humphery
Caster was a TD waiting to happen, he would have done better in this era with gloves....Mickey was an animal, tough, with great hands...
