Half these posts have "bandwagon jumping at its finest" written all over them. If the Saints were 2-4 through six games, like they were last year, nobody would have mentioned them in this thread aside from those posters with New Orleans ties. To answer the question, basically I root for teams who are in position to help the Jets. For example, this week rooting for the Eagles is a good thing. I should also root for the Rams to beat the Chargers because the Jets could contend for a Wild Card spot with the Chargers.
Im totaly indefferent to other games. I rarely even watch them but when I do I always pull for the UD to come through and always hope the "Colts and Bears" of the world get sucker punched. Maybe the Raiders because by wife and her g/f are Raiders fans. Three of us went to the Jets/Raiders game last year and afterwards they locked me out of the BR for 2 days. Ooops maybe I did one too many victory dances!!! heehee it was almost worth it!!
Pretty much just the Packers, they bring back memories as a kid, and I've been through the town a few times. Nice folks, considering how curt the rest of midwesterners can be.
Bears, because my good friend is a Bears fan, the Lions because of my MSU ties And I've always had respect for the Bengles/Chargers, however these all go out of the window if they adversely affect the Jets in anyway
Anyone who beat the Phins & Bills & Pats and for the Giants because they play Dallas and I HATE DALLAS and Parcells for leaving. I wish him all the best with ROMO ---> NOT.
It's more like, who do I root against... -Like any good Jets fan I hate the Dolphins, and root against them, except for the occassion that a Miami win helps the Jets...like over NE in 2002. -I'm not a Patriot hater - but I'm not a Belichik fan. I do appreciate Brady. -My favorite NFC Team is Carolina. I lived in Charlotte for 4 years and NC for 11 years, so I pull for the Panthers. -The way Free Agency is, I root for players more than teams. If a player I like ends up somewhere, I'll pull for him.
No one. I hate everyone else... I respect Parcells a lot so I don't care if the Cowboys do well as long as it doesn't affect us.
It seems I'm in the minority, but I like Peyton manning and I was born in Indiana(although that has nothing to do with it) so I root for the Colts when I'm not rooting for the Jets. That's about it.
That they are winning? We had a thread like this last year and nobody mentioned the Saints. Gee, I wonder why.
I think a lot of people are excited about them winning because it's a nice story. Remember they were supposed to be as bad as the Jets, with a rookie HC, a QB coming of major surgery, and a flashy # 1 pick. I think that a lot of people would be rooting for them whether they were winning or not, as a show of support for the region. The fact that they are playing well is an added bonus.
