I would definitely go with Klecko. It's a shame that those teams of 1981-1986 could never get over the hump and into the Super Bowl, or he would be a lot more celebrated than he is now. Just like the other Joe, injuries didn't help either.

It has to be Namath ..... although I think Curtis could also be in the running. He may have been a Pat but when he is enshrined in Canton it'll be as Jet and a Jet only.

I think to the Aussie's obviously Ben Graham is the face of the organization.

It's too bad Mangold is a center because I already see him being a great player for years to come and centers get hype and love in basketball not football.

I say either Martin or Chrebet. Both were very blue-collar kind of football players, and performed without demanding the spotlight. When I think of the Jets, I think of those two (after Joe Willie of course).

Freeman is unfortunately a perfect face of the franchise. He teased us w/ his ability only to watch him get hurt time after time which is much like the franchise that teases us from time to time but can never get over the hump.

Brett Lorenzo Favre drafted by and appeared in 2 games for the Falcons. Is there anyone else who could be considered over him as Mr. Packer? Of course Curtis is a great choice.

Namath far and away remains the face of the Jets. After that, I would go with Klecko and McNeil.

Kyle Clifton should also get a mention.

Also, Cherbet was a very good Jets player but I don't think he was even one of our top 5 at WR.

    Clearly, it's Namath first.

Then I'd go Martin, Klecko, Maynard, Byrd, Ewbank, Hess, Winston Hill. Maybe my list is not so much the "face of the franchise", but the most historically significant.

I didn't realise Chrebet was such a jerk. He more than most would make one suspect he'd be a more down to earth guy, given how he was such an underdog to ever even be a pro. I wonder if he'll be a dillweed when he opens his new restaurant? He'll have to kiss some ass to make that work. I'd put Chrebet at the back of that list, until I read some of these responses.

What comes around goes around Wayne. Yer shit stinks as much as anyone else's does. That was disappointing.... hearing he is a dillweed. I never met him. I've met lots of Jet players, and only DRob came across as a dillweed. Sauer was a very likable guy. So were Atkinson, Grantham and Namath. Lyons is a very nice guy. Buttle is a bit wishy-washy, but not a bad guy.... depends on when and where you meet him.
