Mike Vick was the most physically talented player in this league. No one in the NFL can run a 4.3 40 and throw the ball as hard like him. It was idiotic to put him in a west coast system...he carried Atlanta 2002 and 2004. If he would've stayed healthy, and stayed out of trouble...he could've become one of the all-time greats. Go suck off Colt Brennan some more.
Ugh. Vick was fast and he had a gun for a arm. So yes, he had physical talents. He also made very poor decisions with the football. He had a very low completion percentage his entire career. He threw a lot of interceptions. He fumbled the ball quite often. He showed up late for practices and was often the first to leave. He reluctantly watched film. He was on bad terms with his wide receivers, one of whom had his first 1,000 yard season with the QB commitee last year. And he was often injured. These are all ON THE FIELD issues, totally unrelated to puppy-murdering. He was exciting to watch. He made some absurd, mind-boggling plays. He was, however, a mediocre quarterback. As his career progressed, and teams learned to defense his style, the wins in Hotlanta evaporated. And I'm not even sure what "the most physically talented player in the league" means. There are faster players, yes? Players who can throw harder? Players who are more agile? Players who can bend a quarter in half or juggle chainsaws or turn their eyelids inside out, yes? Those are all physical talents. Calling him a great quarterback because he is "physically talented" is like calling someone brilliant because they have a high IQ. You could have a score in the genius range, but if all you do your whole life is read Penthouse and masturbate- buddy, you ain't no genius. Mike Vick had a 200 IQ. But all he did his whole career was read porno and jerk off. Don't sit here and call him brilliant.
I didn't call him a "great quarterback"...I called him the most physically talented player in the league. No one RIGHT NOW can do what Mike Vick did as a quarterback. Forget about him as a person, and look at him as a player.
Just because he's physically talented doesn't make him a good qb... his 2 bit brain proved that in enough games
The guy ran for a 1000 yards in a season...as QB...in the NFL. Alex Smith of the Niners is supposed to be some kind of genius, right? His big time brain has proved much less than Mike Vick's "2 bit brain". Vick was a different type of quarterback...a once a generation prospect, and a blew it with his off the field issues.
Right... the problem is he's a qb not a running back... how many scrambling QB's have won a championship? ZERO... they all thrive for awhile till defenses figure out how to contain them or a defender breaks something on them... all vick had was his legs... he couldn't throw for shit...
