Twitter has ruined Clowney in my eyes.....I was hoping he'd bring a solid work ethic to Training Camp this year....but witnessing his demeanor on Twitter makes me hope that he's nothing more than camp fodder. Instead of partying it up, shouldn't he be working hard in the film and weight room? To try and solidify a roster spot? Maybe Mangini was correct is making this moron ride the bench last year. I know he's a young man, and likes to party.....but he's a professional football player first...and should act as such. just my .02. /rant
^ I have to say I agree. For a guy who's career is in question, he doesn't seem to take this time of year as seriously as he should. What was it that Scott said when asked if he'd be taking a vacation? He compared himself to a boxer in that you train your body the whole way through (right up until TC); you don't train, then take a week off by blowing lines and depriving yourself of sleep for two days.
I would agree, I have doubts about his commitment reading stuff like that. I mean really, partying for two days straight? And camp is only two weeks away? Wow.
Jeebus...look at Clowneys last three gems. What a dope. David Clowney 07/13/2009 02:54 PM ET #notetowomen just cause he sleeping wit a girl doesn't mean that's his girl. So he probably not lying if he say he single David Clowney 07/13/2009 02:50 PM ET #notetofemale just b/c he having conversation wit a female doesn't mean he is getting her phone number David Clowney 07/13/2009 02:49 PM ET #notetowomen just because you see him talking to a female don't mean that's his girl
Clowney is no different from a lot of NFL players. He just makes himself look worse because its all over stupid twitter. Whatever he says on there a lot of players would say too, but they aren't on twitter typing it. Let's all stop caring.
Come on, guys! Read below... Clowny rides the short bus. Football player or not. --- David Clowney 07/13/2009 09:54 PM ET You know how we have follow Fridays,.. We should come up wit a unfollow day,... You still gotta post there name tho LOL LOL LOL
The opposite of Clowney? ChansiStuckey Don't fall into the trap of being average. Most people are not afraid of success, just the responsibility that comes with it That almost sounds Curtis Martin-esque
I just got a stern rebuke from Clowney by DM after I posted: in response to his saying: He told me not to write him again.
That is probably a fair statement. But he put himself out there, so he allows the speculation to start.
Write him back and tell him that we here at Ganggreen feel that if he doesn't take his football career more seriously he's going to be tweeting from the french fry cooker at Mickey D's.
I think this is pretty accurate; however, that doesn't mean Clowney and other players like him are right. This is why there are many average players, some good players, and few great ones. Clowney has a lot of raw talent, but he hasn't done anything in the NFL, and he's fighting for a starting spot on a talent-deficient-WR team. If he approached the game the same ways that Scott or Stuckey have shown they approach it, maybe he'd be that much better and have the #2 spot locked.
See, this is just...ugh. Not only is it stupid, but also, why would he broadcast this for everyone to see? It's like he's proud and/or doesn't care that he's not fully rested because he's been partying.
