22-yo kid who won the birth lottery in terms of money AND talent might have an ego problem?! Blasphemy! Completely unheard of!

Exactly. In fact, it may be that his improvement has more to do with an attitude adjustment than anything else. It has to be difficult, but if he's doing it, maybe he and the organization are on a better track. If so, Colon and Scott will come around, I'm absolutely sure of it. After all, winning solves everything.

First off I’m glad you saw what I did there, because you’re right that is slander which proves my point. Second, slandering is not a charge, it’s something you do when it’s used as a verb. Slander used as a noun is something decided by the court of law. This is also a very stupid conversation and I have no desire to hop on the carousel.

Long story short is these three guys made claims based off of absolutely nothing that damaged the reputation of the person they were talking about. That makes you an asshole no matter how you slice it.

Zach has one of his best game and now he has an attitude problem?

The hate for Zach on these boards is amazing.

You still don't get it. Slander is a "tort," a civil wrong; just as libel is. It is not a criminal offense. People get sued for slander and libel in cases often described as "defamation of character." Do yourself a favor and spend two minutes to look it up and understand the concept better.

Voicing opinion is not grounds for either unless it is done in such a way as to make it appear as fact. If Scott said Zach Wilson punched an old lady wearing a Brady jersey, that would be defamation of character, either slander or libel depending on whether it was spoken or written but he is certainly permitted to voice an opinion that Wilson has character flaws such as selfishness or a big ego.

Similarly, you can claim that Scott is a piece of shit without fear of legal consequences but if you falsely claim he is a drug addict you could be in for trouble.

Agreed. Sam Darnold was not a douchebag as far as I could tell. He seemed like a nice guy.... a good soldier. That drove me crazy about him as our QB.

How about that opinion that Becton is a malcontent. Is that allowed?

Slandering someone is different than suing someone for slander. But this is also fucking stupid and so unbelievably not important to the discussion, nor was the first amendment and the constitution which is what I was originally replying to.

Absolutely, when it is clearly an opinion and not stated as fact.

Yes, slandering someone is different than suing someone for slander - they are the two different sides of the same coin. The "slanderer" and the "slanderee."

There was no slander in discussing Wilson's play; there was opinion. Scott, et al, have a job to do and that job is to voice their opinions.

Us die hard Jet fans know WAY more than these talking head ex players do about being frustrated and pissed off at the constant losing, and to have defeat snatched from the jaws of victory like that. Couple this with Brady being involved is doubly infuriating. Some of us have had Tom Brady tormenting and making us miserable for 2+ decades already! I am so happy that is most likely the last time we will ever play against him. Having said all of that, the way those guys behaved on the PGS was way over the top imho. Anyone who follows the team knows that Zack is not an egomanicacal kid, is not selfish, and is all about his team and mates. I honestly believe he ran that sneak because he believed it gave the team the best chance to win. Maybe Berrios limping around contributed to his (bad) decision? Yesterday on the Kay show Willie Colon said he heard some things internally from players about Zack but of course wouldn't name names. "That is flight surgeon horseshit Deke LOL". Colon lost credibility spewing BS using unnamed sources as back up. I am not a fan of Bart Scott, he was a decent player, but is lost as a commentator. Douzable is a nice guy, but how he got that gig is a mystery because he was a nobody player. Real question is where is the best ex-host from the PGS, Ray Lucas? I really miss his takes on everything. To me, he was the only sane one they ever had on there. I also liked Cascadden a lot too, those guys would not rail on a 20 year old rookie QB that has gotten banged around like a rag doll all season and has still shown steady improvement towards the end of the season because he mad 1 bad decision after out playing the GOAT for 59 1/2 minutes of a meaningless game for his team. That personal attack crap was totally uncalled for.

SNY JETS Post Game Live show absolutely sucks. It stinks so bad there is an odor coming out of my TV when its on.

Can't hold a candle the shows with Adam Schein, Ray Lucas & Joe Klecko. The 3 current guys go on 5 minute nonstop diatribes about cover2, backend, double shot high pitch pass defense explanations that I can't understand nor give the slightest $hit about.

I've never watched the post game that Scott is a part of. I did listen to a few of his radio shows when he was on the FAN and I thought he sucked.

Let face it. His best moment as a Jet was his "Can't wait" comment. Oh the memories.

And as for his comment about winning a SB of it weren't for Sanchez, it was him and the defense that slept until halftime against the Steelers and Sanchez and the offense did all they could to try and win the game after that. Scott has 4 tackles...2 solo and 2 assists. Fuck that guy.

Don't understand the character flaw comment at all. That doesn't even make any sense. It's not like Zach Wilson pushed an old lady off a train. Stupid thing to say.

I didn't see the segment, but I read the NYP article. Of course I was bummed by the loss because it was such a typical Jets way to lose, but how was the miscommunication a refllection on Wilson as a person? o_O

I miss Ray Lucas. I pretty much stopped watching SNY after his departure.

Some believed that no matter what Wilson saw pre-snap, he had determined that he was going to be the hero and try to run it himself for a first down.

Yes, I know. I'm in the camp it was a coaching miscommunication/rookie mistake.

Maybe Wilson does have some self-entitlement rich boy syndrome in the mix as a few others have opined, but when he starts displaying Jeff George level toolbaggery I'll worry about it.

A lot of NFL QBs are self-important turds. Funny how nobody says dares to say Tom Shady has character flaws (as good as he is) when he's a cheating dirtbag.

Another thing is he doesn't need his uncle's money anymore, not that he ever had it as his disposal anyway. My uncle was a doctor who had way more money than my dad and he never gave us shit.

Willie Colon's source is Denzel Mims.

PS - Zach's taking us farther than Bart did.

Bart's body language screamed delight when he heard the play had an option in it. His confirmation biases were flaring. A real Jet fan doesn't focus their energy on tearing down the franchise's future.
