Baker gets paid......

    .....nice to know the team does not redo contracts with more than 1 year left!

    Maybe it's just that we dont' redo contracts for aging malcontents whom the coaching staff perceived to be a virus in the lockeroom and a threat to their very existence?

    Thats not a re-do. It's just good cap management.

    He isnt getting an extra penny. The team is clearing salary cap room next season, late in this season.

    Baker had a 1 mil Roster Bonus coming to him in 2008 and a 1.5 mil roster bonus coming to him in 2009. It looks like they added those roster bonus numbers this year because they were under the cap.

    Next yr his cap figure according to a couple sites, is 1.25 mil. It will cost 500k to cut him. Looking at those numbers he will be here next yr.

    2009 He will count 1.25 mil agianst the cap if he is cut he will count 250k agianst the cap. He might sign an extension before that yr but most likely they will let him play it out.
