the motivation is that the Steelers are favored, and despite the fact that you have beaten two top teams nobody thinks you are going to win this game. we can't run on them; we can't pass on them; we better be afraid to talk shit because they will kick our ass if we do; the list goes on and on.

we may be getting a lot of hype about beating the Pats, but when all is said and done the Steelers are still expected to win the game. Rex isn't talking to the team about how they are being congratulated for beating the Pats, he is telling them how nobody expects them to win against the Steelers. again, it is them against the world.

The motivation is also to avoid the letdown from last year and not turn into the Buffalo Bills of the AFCCG. But really, it's the same motivation as all season long to get some respect that no one is giving them and show the world what's up

This is the only part I disagree with. Every pundit out there last week was saying the Pats were going to score at least 31 points. If that's not a slap to a defense, I don't know what is.

They were more than just implying it, I heard one commentator after another saying the Jets defense was nothing special and overrated. The 3 fuckheads still left saying after last weekend will probably finally shut up after the Jets take care of the Steelers D everyone is so in love with

Because the media played off of Mangini last name?

This is SOJF territory. You're better than that.

So if Mangini was never here, you'd have no problem doing it?

I'd say right now overall Rex is masterful, defensively a genius and Offensively ??

I guess my point is, is that Rex self admittedly says he is deficient offensively.
    i apologize for SOJesque questioning.

I completely bought into Mangini and completely bought into Rex.

You know what? I keep editing this fucking post thinking about different things. I was going to say I have a hard time labeling a coach a genius based on excelling in one facet of the game.

But then I think of Walsh and I would say he was a genius bc of his offensive schemes And how they influenced the NFL.

I could see somewhere down the line coordinators saying Rex influenced their schemes. So, with that, I reconsider

posted this on my iPhone excuse typos

Bro that's been happening for years. Read that 10 page NYT article from a couple of months ago. There are numerous people that make pilgrimages to Rex in the off season to get schooled by him and learn some of his schemes.

Not everyone is blinded by his antics at a presser. There are many coaches that seek Rex''s advice and try and use his scheme's.
