Howard has played well for his price tag and I hope he stays for awhile. Our problem on the line is our 2 guards. Moore will retire next year and Slauson should be a back up 6th linemen role.
Someone pointed out in another thread that Mangold and Brick are approaching that point in their careers where they may start to decline slightly year over year. We need to consistently draft and develop lineman in every draft. It never goes away.
I don't think the line has performed badly this season. D'brick may be having his best season statistically. Mangold is playing up to his usual standards. He's stout and durable. Good centers in the NFL play forever. If Ducasse continues to improve, it is not inconceivable that Slauson could move to RT. I don't think this is Moore's last season. It looks like he is finally rounding back into shape after his surgeries. I hope he is kept. Austin Howard will get reps as an extra tight end in the Jet offensive. Jason Smith, with a very voidable $12m contract, is unlikely to be back
I'm not saying that it's not Sanchez's fault, I would split it with the receivers and him. C'Mon, if the receivers were getting separation he wouldn't be holding on to the ball so long. On Sanchez's part, he needs to lead the receivers a different way, he needs to throw it away more, he needs to be more aware on how their rushing. You see him sometimes step into the pocket on the worst time to do so, then we see him not step in when he should be. The blame should be split up.
