Not worried about losing Mo at all. He's going to play next year and if he still doesn't have a deal he will be tagged for the year after that. He can hold out all he wants. Should we pay him? Yes. Do we have to? No

Had nothing to do with Mo.

    I just like saying that.

No way for Winston I agree.

Mariota on the other hand in a heart beat because Coples can step up in that slot and Mariota is on the field instead of Geno or Fitz.

You guys are on drugs. You really think you keep 6 and trade Wilkerson and some slop pick next year for 2? Throw in a few 1s and you are getting close.

    I didn't say that...

I said they get #6 (Cooper/White) + Mo and we get #2 overall and maybe a 3rd next year if Mo resigns long term.

What an awful offer. Jets will need at least another high round pick the next year to even consider that trade.

Looking at your trade - the Jets get raped. If ANYTHING it's Mo for the 2nd pick straight up, they will not receive our 6th overall pick.

It has 0 logic. All Pro player PLUS our 6th pick for the 2nd overall? That is the shittiest trade I have ever seen for an all-pro caliber player.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

    If we trade for #2 with just picks it would cost us #6 + 1st (16) + 2nd (15) + 2nd (16) at least
If someone offers us 1st (16) + 2nd (15) + 2nd (16) we would take it and run and plug in Coples

  11. Mo is the better talent than Coples but I think Coples is the better 3 technique.Yes Wilk can do it but first step quickness is lacking & he's alittle tight. Anytime Coples has been asked to play to his strengths he has made plays. He was moved to OLB essentially b/c he struggled in the 5 technique, Rex lost patience but wanted his athleticism on the field...they figured they'd get creative and put him out on the edge.

Now assuming the jets stick w/ a 3 man front...3 technique or not Coples will be asked to do some stacking. The question is..has he improved from that rookie campaign? Will his ability to penetrate offset some of those other concerns?

This much is certain..no way Coples yields the same return Mo does in a trade.

No. The cost we knew to go up to 2 would be steep. Plus we don't know what other teams are offering.

Using an all pro player as bait not a bad idea to separate us from other offers.

I would rather fail with Mariota then sit on my hands for another decade.

If we were just trading Wilkerson flat out I doubt we could get more than a second for him and not because he isn't better than that but because the team you trade him to will have to start paying him 10-12M a year immediately and why not just draft a potential great DL and pay him peanuts instead? That's the reality of trading players like him.

Atlanta has some serious discontent with Forte and he looks like he could be on the outs, not saying we should trade Mo but if we did I think a very reasonable offer for both sides would be Mo and a sixth next year for the 8th this year and Forte. We could get a QB/WR/OLB with 6 and WR/OLB/LT plus fill our need at RB with Forte in the first round. Atlanta gets a stud pass rusher they covet plus a late pick next year. Could bump it up to a fourth next year to sweeten the deal.

I would trade Mo and a 2nd for 2nd overall in a heartbeat, I would even trade mo and a first next year for 2nd overall and a 3rd this year... walking away with mariota and a top pass rusher/white or cooper coupled with our offseason would be a M A S S I VE turn around... im not as high on mo as most, the video evidence of him taking plays off is pretty dicouraging to me and the hold out is weak aswell, you are undercontract if you are unhappy with it then wait till its over and then look for something else... YOU SIGNED IT (as much as i like revis I feel the same way about his hold outs)

    What makes you say that?

We can just go grab our franchise QB next year.

    Or the year after that.

    Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

I don't think we should trade up period. No prospect is worth trading all of those picks or players.

If that QB is a great prospect and you know that QB can come in and be a great player sure explore the trade, but all indications to me are there are no players with that impact at the top of the draft. Therefore I am not letting all-pro players go for draft picks, especially when the top of the draft there are no true sure things.

There will be opportunities to grab QBs, I am not selling my premier home-grown talent right now, no way in hell.

Here is a list of most of the trades of players for first round picks since 2000 and there aren't many of them. Also almost all of them (not sure about 2011) were made when first round drafted players still made real money, not like it is today. So all these trade theories that make Wilkerson worth so much are just pipe dreams.

Because the draft is a crapshoot and the odds of finding a pro bowl d lineman are 1 out of 100
