Rex works for our GM and he works for Woody. You make it seem as though Rex has more power than he actually has. If every one of our draft picks are defense, I might see your point. But, that's highly unlikely. Sheesh, I think you WANT to see Rex fired, no matter the results.
im also interested in his vision and what he feels makes a good team. only time will tell so far as that goes. i would say just like a rookie draft pick we need to give him a few years to see how he operates.
Some people for whatever reason just WANT to believe that Rex has all the power or will undermine Idzik, etc. and I have no idea why. SOJF I guess. Always has to be the worst case scenario.
I've never bought this idea that Rex Ryan is picking all of the players. Like all NFL coaches, I'm sure he has had his fair share of input, but I'm quite confident that Mr. T was the final arbiter in all personnel decisions. If Mr. T occasionally bent to Rex's will when he really felt he shouldn't have, than that is on him. He was the GM and he had the ultimate responsibility and accountability for the quality and depth of the team's active roster.
I'm willing to give Idzik the benefit of the doubt; at least until he lets Rex talk him into drafting Manti Te'o.
I tryed to tell people he was responsible for the Seahawks success and i got laughed at,After i read this article a few days ago I relaized the media is throwing this guy under the bus by calling him just a cap guy, But at the same time Mr.T had the same type of experience that Idzik did and he was considered just a cap guy
R U sure that's the Org chart? Rex reports to Woody. Wiz reports to Woody. Frankly, it wouldn't bother me at all if Foghorn Leghorn and his foot videos and his tattoos and the circus all left town on the next Amtrak to some backwater zipcode. You make it seem as though the presser never happened and Rex is a lame duck. He's not. Barring a complete catastrophe, Ryan is bulletproof. I ask this: does Rex report to the Wiz? There has to be some form of a chain of command in place.
I would just like to hear who Rex plans on starting at QB. If Mark trots on to the field for the opener, we know Rex is in charge of everything.
When it comes to the New York Jets, I really don't let it affect me one way or the other. I can assure you that there's plenty other things in life that gives me pleasure. Can you say the same?
Ok. I get that. Rex does NOT report to the Wiz. Check. For the challenged, that means Idzik is NOT Rex's boss. Think about it.
Which is fine. I mean Tanny was technically Mangini's and Rex's boss yet that didn't stop Mangini and Rex from influencing drafts. Keeping them separate is fine
The point I was making was that two great organizations use the same structure where the GM is not the coaches boss. I've thought about it.
I cant reiterate how much I think he's going to build a winner for us starting with <------------this guy
The world must be ending. A positive post from Cman55! hmy: First broomulack, and now this. All we need is championjets adding a smiley face to the end of his posts.
