I like tools, so I'll take it as a compliment.

I was not insinuating that he learned any football related knowledge from Tebow. But since you brought it up, I do believe he learned a few things from Tebow. They have very similar styles of play. If you look at the way they carry themselves off the field, it doesn't seem as though Cam emulates Tebow in any fashion. On the field however, you can see Tebow's influence in Cam.

One could make the case that Tebow is a former Gator, while Cam is an ex Gator because he was kicked out.

You obviously aren't a Gator, or you'd know the difference.

Then you should know the difference between a Gator and an ex-Gator.

God's gayboy would disapprove of your insensitivity. The Chinese built our railroads. They are people, too.

At first I was like, 'Yeah, right.'

But then I was like, 'We have lawyers posting here who can't argue their way out of a paper bag, so... maybe?'

The post you quoted was a typo, too. It should have said, 'Quit while you still have some self respect.'

Why don't you explain it? I'm curious to hear your explanation.

Not taking the bait. I'm here to discuss football, not argue like an internet tough guy.

It's intuitively obvious. If you're a Gator, that is.

    But since you asked...

Newton transferred from UF to another school, then played for Auburn, which makes him an ex-Gator.

Tebow finished his college playing career at UF, which makes him a Gator.

If you don't understand that, there's no helping you.

Enough with the "if you're a Gator crap." It's annoying, and I don't need your help to understand what you are saying. I fully understand it, I just think it's your personal belief as opposed to a universally accepted stance.

I've probably spent more years there than you did, unless you are a lawyer or a doctor. Of all the years I spent at UF, at no time did the university put out guidance on who is a Gator, ex-Gator, or former Gator. The concept you are referring to is not university specific, so being a Gator does not provide anyone any additional insight into the topic.

I think your assumption that everyone feels the same way you do is wrong, because there is no absolute rule on this topic.

Lighten up, Francis. You coyly asked for my explanation. If you're annoyed, it should be at yourself, 'cos by my responses so far and the way you asked, it should've been clear you'd be getting a smart-ass response instead of a serious one.

    But to continue your lesson:

It's not how much time you've spent, it's what you did in that time. Other than completely trucking a UT Vol in garbage time (which was "AWE-SOME," BTW), Cam Newton played no meaningful minutes as a Gator.

    Here's another example...

Emmit Smith spent three years at the school. Still a Gator, esp. after returning for his degree. Now, if Cam were to return to UF for a degree, or contribute in some other meaningful capacity, he'd be a Gator.

    BTW.

Urban Meyer: Ex-Gator, potential Gator Bait. Steve Spurrier occupies a singularly unique position as both Gator Great and Gator Bait.
