Probably but Pete Carroll got a lot out of him at USC and could probably do it again. It'd kind of cool for Mark to go back to his college coach.
Please list the "many" number of young QBs with winning records and at least 4 playoff road wins in their first 4 seasons that "never amount to anything". I'd love to see that list. So Schaub or any QB, for that matter, is not allowed to have an off year? "If" Shaub is released, last year's performance will be the excuse but not be the primary factor, at least it better not be if the GM has any sense. As many Sanchez haters are quick to point out, he's put up good to very good numbers year after year up until last. Eli Manning had a far worse season in 2013 than Shaub. If you went strictly by the numbers, Eli has had a worse career. However, it goes w/o saying that the chance of the Giants ever releasing him is slim to none. If Shaub is released, it will be because they've determined that they've hit their ceiling with him at the helm, they don't believe he is the guy that can take them where they want to go and/or the new coach just wants to go in a different direction with his own guy. If I believed that each player played the game in a vacuum I would agree that "...based on Sanchez past...he'd be more likely to perform like Schaub in '13 if he had those guys as his weapons"; I don't. What I believe is that neither Sanchez or Shaub are elite QBs. Both are capable of putting up good numbers in the right conditons as well as wetting the bed in the wrong conditions. Shaub has consistently had optimal conditions for quite some time now and his team has gone but so far; Sanchez, not so much. The difference between them from a talent evaluation perspective, is that Sanchez is younger, more athletic, more of the playmaker and gamer. If you've carefully read my posts in the past, you would know that I do not put a lot of stock in the weapons argument. For non-elite QBs, I believe it's a factor but not nearly as much of a factor as the OC and QB coach. Personally, before I hammer in that final nail in Sanchez's Jets coffin, I would want to see him play some regular season games under MM and Lee. Wouldn't even need to see a full or half a season worth; 4 games or so would do the trick. You apparently have already nailed the coffin shut and begun shoveling dirt on top.
Are folks really criticizing sarcasm? Its an internet message board. There is supposed to be sarcasm. You guys take yourselves way too fucking seriously some times. I'm no ralebird fan but that post was funny and if you are going to get stuffy about it maybe you should go get a job with the jet and leave the message boards to the uneducated masses. There is nothing more douchey than thinking your opinion on a message board actually matters. If your coming to tgg to learn about football you should go watch baseball.
Will their ever come day we don't have to listen to Jets fans give all the credit to Sanchez for the Jets playoff wins in Rex's first two years? I'm so fucking sick of hearing about how "Sanchez won 4 playoff games" as if he was the only reason we won the games. I never heard anyone talking about how Shonn Greene or Mike DeVito won 4 playoff games when they left. To make matters worse Sanchez fans then talk about how it's a team game for the seasons we didn't make the playoffs with him. You can't have it both way Sanchez fans. It's amazing the lack of reasoning some people have.
And if you think you are teaching folks on an internet message board your an idiot. People come here to debate and express opinions and let go of frustration. Not learn about football. 90% of football fans don't have any fucking clue about the game. No matter how many times they watch the tape on their DVR.
See that was me releasing some frustration. Felt good, I've been ready to let someone ha e it all morning. Now I have accomplished that and nobody is mad at me, I haven't lost my job and I haven't had to deal with the police. Tgg has done its job today And yes I realize how douchey putting a smiley there is
You said that Sanchez needs the right system. My point is that there are many young QB's in the past that has bounced around and still sucked. Bringing up one of the few exceptions in Alex Smith doesn't negate the point. Schaub had an off year but when exactly did Sanchez ever had an on year? The question was how would Sanchez look playing with Kubiak as his coach with Johnson and Foster, my reply is basically unless those guys can make him become accurate and a better decision maker, he'll more than likely look like he's always looked. We didn't have a dominant elite player at a particular position but he was surrounded by a solid cast of players and was average at best. You're right I'm done with Sanchez I don't need to see anymore of him. That 2011 Ravens game revealed something in him that I never want to see in my franchise QB. The buttfumble epitomizes his poor decision making when things go haywire. Comparing Schaub and Sanchez is an insult to Schaub.
How about comparing Sanchez to Vick or McNabb? ...'Cause, ya know, those guys improved under Morningwheg so it's a given that Sanchez would have been better as well.
Soooooooooooo, there aren't"many" number of young QBs with winning records and at least 4 playoff road wins in their first 4 seasons that "never amount to anything"?
MM became their OC in 2006, McNabb had been a top QB for years prior to that. I'll give you Vick but even then Vick in his ATL years when healthy was a far more effective QB than Sanchez.
You can only evaluate a player like Mark based on his performances on gameday. Some guys have an insufficient sample size but Sanchez has over sixty starts. So that's what you have to use to make a decision on him. And 60 is a very big sample size. So you know what you're getting. Not just in pure stats but in the way he played. Can you blame things on his coaches and teammates. You expect your franchise Qb or at least starting Qb to make chicken salad out of crap. And were the players on the Jets O in 2011 and 2012 truly that horrible. No, they weren't. Bottom tier yes, but still NFL players and guys who could make plays. In essence Mark was the worst player on the Jets offense not his receivers or Rbs.
According to a few reports there is "a lot" of interest in Sanchez. Wondering if Idzik tries to trade him Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
