It's either Sanchez or Vick, and Vick has lots of baggage including injuries (Sanchez is not injury-prone, except when he plays behind a 3rd-string OL...LOL).

The thing I can't understand is folks wanting Matt Schaub, who was a total wreck and reminds me of Steve Blass in baseball, circa 1973, when he couldn't find the strike zone and was out of baseball in 2 years.

Schaub makes Sanchez look like Peyton Manning.

Mark is coming off missing a year, that will be an issue. he's not going to be signed to start. he will be signed as a backup or to compete w/ a younger, non established QB. Hopefully for him he goes to a good team and in the event the starter gets hurt he will get a chance to resurrect his career.

There just are not enough good QB's in the NFL. I think Sanchez gets a starting job right away in 2014. He may have to compete, but he will and he will win. This guy had a promising career until Sparano/Tebow showed up and then was injured in 2013. I'd sign him in a second if I was one of the teams needing a QB.

The bolded text has been very true of his game thus far.

He won't be a good fit anywhere. He is a QB that's talent and system (WCO) dependent.

The funny thing about that is the Jets would be one of the teams that would be a good fit, may even be the best fit. Houston prior to Kubiac getting fired would have been good too. The Vikings, Browns and Bucs could be good fits depending on what kind of offense their new HCs decide to run.

Sanchez's evaluation in 2009 in immaterial. Matt Leinart had a good one out of college and he's out of the league. Mark has talent but regressed. I would take Schaub over him every day. No way they re-sign Mark. As for last pre-season he really didn't win the job. That's a fallacy. He turned the ball over in the few games he played. Again if he goes somewhere else and is good more power to him. I doubt that's going to happen and you can't keep hoping and wishing and praying it will.

Schaub on our 2009/2010 teams and MAYBE we win one playoff game.

Mark badly outplayed geno as he should have. geno was not ready to play at that point.

Sanchez is considered a bad QB around the league whose also coming off a shoulder injury. If any team signs Sanchez to start in 2014, then that GM is a moron plain and simple.

there are plenty of bad Gms around the league, Chicago just signed Cutler to a 7 yr deal.

Prove that we just win one game with Schaub.

Obviously the coaches didn't think "Mark badly outplayed Geno". I don't think Sanchez badly outplayed Geno either.

On another note. Schaub was terrible this year, but at least he's had a few good years. Mark has never been a good QB.

He's a good guy, and there is some talent there.

The Jets just arent a good fit for him anymore, too much history.

Cutler is a good QB. I see issue with giving him an extension.

he had more talent around him than mark could dream of and had just 1 postseason app and won one home game.

Schaub has never been anything more than a decent stat QB, you aren't winning anything w/ him. We KNOW you can win big w/ Mark.

another Schaub type, no thanks. he's made 1 postseason, won one postseason game(at home against a 7-9 team) and has had more talent around him than Mark. Schaub and Cutler are good QBs to the average fans that value meaningless #s over actual play.

In 2009 Scot McCloughan re-signed Alex Smith who at the time was considered a bad QB (#s worse than Sanchez) coming off of a major shoulder injury. This yielded the 49ers a 27-17-1 record, 62 TDs to 32 INTs and ultimately a 2nd round pick. Was that a plain and simple moronic move by Scot?

I am not saying you sign Mark Sanchez, have a huge press conference with him holding your team's jersey, and tell your fan base you have a new starting QB. I am saying you sign him, let him compete, he will win the competition, and eventually lead your team to success.

You know there are circumstances that are out of Schaub's control right?

You know Cutler's numbers are a result of his good play right?

We can win big with Mark except when we needed wins we didn't get them. If that's the logic you want to use then it has to go both ways. If you credit him with wins then you should credit him with losses too.

In 2009 Alex Smith had his best season. Then in 2010 after a mostly up and down year, he ended the season on a good note (think Geno Smith in the last 4 games this season) far different circumstance than Sanchez.

i hate jay cutler. he is a bad QB.

but he is about 50 times better then sanchez. no one is signing mark sanchez as anything more then a backup or 3rd string
