12/16 teams in the AFC are .500 are better. Most NFL teams walk into the year thinking they can squeak into the playoffs so generalizing that we’ve played a bunch of teams with playoff expectations is silly.
I’ve come so totally full circle on this it’s embarrassing. Where I’ve landed now is - yeah, dropping a huge steaming pile at midfield is maddening; it’s the rolling in it that’s so enraging. At least the Lions have the decency to suck quietly. This is where I just deleted a paragraph with twelve “motherfuckers,” seven “dumb cunts” and a colorful assortment of other appropriate werdz. Turns out I can say the same thing with less effort.
This doesn't include last week so I'm sure we are closer to the bottom left than where we are now. 30th in offensive EPA 31st in defensive EPA
Is this the paragraph that always ends with "...Three backup QBs, two shit coordinators, and a right guard who shouldn't be there"?
Heh. The full song demands its own thread. Maybe with a different lead-in, though. On the first day of training camp the New York Jets brought me. . . a right guard who shouldn't be there. On the second day of training camp the New York Jets brought me . . . two shit coordinators and a right guard who shouldn't be there. And so on.
Can't complain man. Life goes on and I'm still on the right side of the dirt. A few more years and I can park the company truck.
i love this chart…it’s a great view (but then I’m a Finance guy so I love charts!). where can you get this?
They're probably pretty close. I imagine they're in last place with point differential. They have two remaining against Miami, in Houston, and home for Jacksonville and Philly. Those are all winnable games. If the Jets dont show up in these games, worst team in the league is absolutely in play.
The NFL is such a fluid league, you can absolutely be the worst team in the league one week, then beat a contender the next. Witness what happened with us after the 54-13 debacle up in NE. We beat a suposed contender at home the next week. While I have not been thrilled at what Saleh has brought here, or how the team has played under his watch so far, and acknowledge that changes will definitely have to be made, but you cannot fire a HC after 1 season and be taken seriously unless a Bill Parcells type is coming in to fix things. There is nobody like that out there so I think we are stuck with Saleh for the forseeable future. Having said that, I think his in game coaching is terrible, his adjustments are laughable, the way he handles his players is awful, and his buddies that he brought in to run the defense have been awful and all need to go. LaFleur has done a decent job lately, so perhaps he is improving and will stay, the rest should be gone and a real defensive staff should be brought in because what they have now is clearly not working at all. The rest of this season's games will tell us a lot. There is no way this team should finish 2-15 with 2 Miami's, Houston, Jax and Philly left. If they do, Saleh will be on the hot seat BIG TIME next year.
Inconsistent at best for sure. OLine looks to be improving for several games and then back to crap. QB performance regardless who’s starts have one promising game and then bam, into a shithole. Defense looks good for two games and folks hail them like Steel Curtain and then suddenly they are one of the worst defensive team in NFL. Injuries has an impact but no excuse. A chance for some guys to step up. There are some bright spots, yeah but not many. But it is part of the growing pains expecting this year.
It's pretty difficult to argue that they're not right now. The other bad teams at least are competitive on occasion.
Worst 1st quarter team in the NFL shows how dreadfully unprepared this team is coming into a game on a weekly basis. Who says they are inconsistent?
Fun Fact: We are absolute fucking trash tier... The rest doesn't matter at the end of the day. We are a broken franchise, made up of a bunch of broken fans, who are ran by a complete dumb fuck of an owner. Fuck the law of averages.
