You are comparing Jerry RIce to Denzel Mims? I think that is a slightly ridiculous comparison to get your point across. You are also using preseason stats in your assessment of Mims against backups? Really?.. Either way, Moore was 100% rookie jitters. That is not out of the norm and completely expected from a rookie WR. And why should Mims get playing time? Corey Davis had a great day. Berrios had 5 catches for 51 yards including a big 4th down conversion. Mims had one catch getting behind a clueless defender and when he caught the ball he looked like he had no clue where he was.
No, I'm not comparing Jerry Rice to Denzel Mims. Get real. I swear some of you guys can be so damn dense! You see what you see in posts and ignore other things. I did NOT use preseason stats for Mims! GTFO with that BS! ROFLMAO! Dude, you are fucking clueless!
So you're referring to when Mims was on Adam Gase's team in an offense I said he was a perfect fit for? Got it. Mims does not look the part and it is alarming.
man 1 loss opening day by 5 points with the youngest team in the NFL and you guys are already losing your shit
If Mims never plays .. what do you want to do with him? Do you want to see him traded like Robbie A ? We know you didn't sweat that one out
I am fine trading Mims although I want to give him more time and see if he can make the adjustments. I LOVED Mims out of college and thought it was a great pick at the time. I think JD would pass if the draft was this past season or next season, but he's talented as hell. I posted this article in the other thread, but it seems this is all related to his route tree and him learning the playbook: https://jetsxfactor.com/2021/09/15/denzel-mims-new-york-jets-depth-chart/
Sigh It doesn't matter if he was a perfect fit for Gase's offense. Moore is practically a perfect fit for LaFleur's offense. The difference is that Mims missed more time than Moore, yet showed no rookie jitters and produced from his first start/game action. Moore looked lost.
yeah more had 57 snaps and 4 targets with 1 catch for -3 yards on a WR screen. he had 2 drops as well. mims had 3 snaps cold off the bench in the 4th and caught his only target for a 40 yard reception which was huge and got us in position to make it a 1 score game. Mims has the talent, he just needs to work on his technique and learning the playbook. he always produces when on the field, he just needs to get himself on the field more
Maybe he could if the Jets had a package of plays for him like other teams do or if he wasn't having to learn how to play slot WR.
The issue is his skill set is the same as davis. but davis is better. they have packages for the top 3 like saleh said (crowder, moore, davis) after that it's about fitting into a spot. mims will replace davis but davis never leaves the field. he played the most snaps of any WR for us. cole is expected to fill in for any of the top 3 when they need a breather. that's why the coaches like him. berrios is the backup for crowder and the top slot substitute. that's why he started in crowders spot with cole out. mims has a talented group ahead of him so to see the field he needs to be more versatile
Mims ran completely free off the line of scrimmage because of a blown coverage by the corner. Let's not start labeling his one catch as more than what it was lol
considering all the drops in the game at least he made the play. coming in cold off the bench. he made the most of his small opportunity which was the point.
Of course he did lol He ran free down the field and turned around and caught the ball. I mean Jesus, I would fuckin hope he makes the most out of that situation.
Thanks...I hadn't heard that yet. I was wondering since it seemed Z thru it right to him. Shit happens! As long as it don't happen too often
@NCJetsfan throwing insults lately... the coaches are stupid and fools... posters are fucking clueless this MIms business seems to have... how say? affected you. or is it something else? something going on? you good? i see alotta stuff i think is fucking clueless... they just go on ignore without comment.. just another way of looking at it.
