I thought Barlow looked pretty good and as he gets more comfortable he'll be our starter. Also, the OL is young and while they have adapted to become a good pass block OL quickly they haven't in the run so it will take some time but I think out run game will be decent.
Looking back wouldn't it have been great to get Heath Miller and Justin Miller in rounds 1 and 2, instead.
I don't know. I doubt Heath Miller would have had a good year with the Jets in 2005. He was in a perfect spot last year in PIT. In the Jolley trade the Jets got three picks. One was used to select Mike Nugent and one was used to select Cedric Houston. The other pick was later used as trade bait to move up in the 4th round to select Kerry Rhodes.
Heck no, especially for that price. Look we need to learn to let go, its been 2 years already we've lost other 2nd rounders (does anyone miss mcgraw) and we somehow manage to get through the football season....
Gotta get over it. I was the biggest enemy of letting him go, but it's a remnant of the Herm/TB nightmare
Hell yeah I miss Lamont Jordan. Although yesterday the line got absolutely no pushat all. If we had Jim Brown or Walter Peyton we might have had a ground game yesterday.
To the people saying lamont would of faired the same outcome. Surely you jest. Lamont is known for breaking through a tackle or two, and it usually takes more then one defender to bring him down. The comparison is a no brainer. Yeh I miss him, but at the same time Im not going to bitch and moan and complain about it 3 years later. Best of luck to him, were 1-0 now, lets keep this train rolling.
I got your "miss Jordan" right here: The proper question is, how much is Lamont Jordan missing US?
C'mon. Let's be realistic here. He is running behind a line that gave up like 7 sacks!!! Did you see the game? Cause if you did, you probably wouldn't have posted this. then again, anything for a cheap shot.......
Lamont Jordan last night against the Chargers: 10 rushes for 20 yards, 2.0 ypc average and a long run of 4 yards. He's picking up right where he left off last season.
Like I said... he's probably missing us more than we are missing him. I know the Raiders have issues, but those same people that drool over him seem to think he can run through walls. He can't of course.
Lamont Jordon is very overrated. I'm not even sure if he's a true feature back in this league. I never liked his type if runner or his physique. He's not a classic body (like an LT or CMart) not fast enough and too big and bulky. I think he'd be better suited as a FB. No I don't miss him.
"Sep 12 Jordan had 10 rushes for 20 yards in the Raiders' 27-0 season-opening loss to the San Diego Chargers on Monday." Noooot me
I saw Justin Fargas having more success the Jordan.... Maybe last season was the aberration. In either case he wasn't worth that payday.
QFT I don't think the MASSIVE chip Lamont had on his shoulder would have enamoured him with Mangini either.
I liked Lamont but Barlow has as much skill at a cheaper price. Let's see what he brings to the table. I would take Lamont over Blaylock in a heartbeat.
