Anyone else starting to feel that Sanchez is going to be Great?

And once again we're treated to the hypocrisy of Dolphin fans. Proudly brag about sweeping a team that you claim is mediocre, then try to downplay that same team beating 2 division champs on the road in the playoffs. So sweeping a team that, according to you guys, was no better than 8-8 is a greater accomplishment than going into the houses of 2 division champs and sending both of them home.

Seems to me that beating the Chargers was nothing special since they've been choking yr after yr. If we had defeated the Colt, u wudda come up with the same BS about them too claiming they've been choking every yr besides one. If the Jets lose to Chargers, maybe they go on to win the SB. But we MADE them choke...again! Bengals r not repectable. They only won their division, that's all. But since they rested their starter fir a quarter in wk17, they would have been awesome n made a comeback. Atleast that's wat the Dolphin fans claim.

U pick one game n say Jets shudda been 8-8, while claiming sporano took a team n turned it to a 11-5 team n fail to realize the Dolphins had one of the easiest schedule that year n a QB who wasn't a rookie. Sporano did well, I'll give u that, but he over achieved n it showed the following year. Miami is a 7 to 9 win team this year n that's how it'll be. Don't wet urself n start realizing that u won't get a flukey Ginn TD over Revis ever again n 3non offensive TDs against the Jets for years to come, two main reasons Miami swept the Jets.

sanchez? i think saying he's going to be a better player than revis is a stretch. Revis is the best at his position in football by a long stretch and has potential to be one of the all time greats.but totally agree with top 5-10 quarterback. Aaron rodgers or Rivers caliber. The kid is a gym rat, smart and has all the physical tools. He's already been a huge stage and has handled adversity well through the much expected (but still criticized) bumps in the road. Honestly when you look at it, there is no ceiling for him. He has all the tools, both physically and intangibly. but there are other variables beyond his control that will dictate that..i.e. playcalling and how much support he has around him.

Tom brady or manning level? Definetely not manning, and most likely not brady unless the jets start winning some rings. Manning is the best quarterback ever. Brady isn't on manning's level but he's the next name you mention because of his playoff performances when they won their superbowls.

but he will be in the pro bowl multiple times if he's healthy.


Drafting mark sanchez was one of the greatest decisions the team has ever made IMHO. He's the perfect quarterback for us, and this city. Not afraid of the spotlight or the camera, dedicated, honest and humble. Not to mention a team that's been starving for a great, young quarterback for 30 years. the best we've had are overachievers (Pennington) or towards the end of their career who couldn't give us that many good years, if any (boomer, testaverde, favre). O'brien was kind of a class of his own because he was good at times, but not great.

I rarely look at moments for any team i root for (mets, jets, knicks, islanders) and can proudly say it was an awesome decision and will alter our history, but drafting mark sanchez was one of those moments. So was hiring Rex. I hope the knicks can do that too this summer.

Getting Johan Santana and trading for latrell spreewell (99 finals run) is the only one i can really think of. maybe in a few years drafting john tavares

 

He has the physical tools to be a good to great QB. He has also demonstrated that he is able to learn and develop as he made the necessary adjustments during the year to end the season with a strong finish. He has shown that he is a hard off-season worker, and the part that gets me real excited is his leadership abilities. After drafted last season he grabbed all the rookies together and worked on the playbook prior to the first rookie minicamp (I looked, but did not hear about any of this years or anyone other QB taken last year doing this). This year he is getting his skill position players out to Cal to work on timing and playbook prior to the start of camp. I like everything he is doing so far...

I've had that feeling since I began scouting him for the Jets last year. His rookie year wasn't a surprise.

Patience needs to be had at the hardest position in sports. he'll show his greatness in year 3. Next year will be a better year, but his great years are still a little while down the road.

 

They're Dolphin fans. That's why they brag.

 

I couldn't tell a difference in his composure from the regular season to the postseason. For a rookie, that's what impresses me the most.

 

The word 'elite' is being thrown all over the fucking place with QB's. People are saying Aaron Rodgers is an elite QB. That's out of control right now.

Elite QB's that were in the league last year were Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Kurt Warner, and Brett Favre. Drew Brees probably too.

Great QB's Phil Rivers, Matt Schaub, Tony Romo, Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers.

Cutler might be a tier 2 QB but he does not deserve to be lumped in with the guys in your tier 2.

 

This year should make-or-break Sanchez as a franchise QB. The talent and depth at WR, stable O-Line, and 2back ground-and-pound should allow him to continue to develop and breakout. So long as the team stays healthy he should outplay Mattford.

 

Dude, did you really just put Cutler ahead of Eli? Romo just won his first playoff game (at long last) and I consider the two of them equal. I don't want to threadjack, but there's a lot of hate on here for a 29 year old SBMVP that just had his best year with a WR corp consisting of rookies and backups.

And Favre doesn't go in the elite category simply because he can't be trusted with the football in pressure situations.

As far as Sanchez goes, I think he will be a very good QB but will need to be in a west-coast-esque system to realize his full potential. His only shortcoming that can't really be fixed, as I see it, is his lack of arm strength. I think he's the perfect QB for what Rex Ryan wants to do.

I believe Mr. Rivers belongs in the top 5.

 

Rodgers is most certainly elite. His numbers are insane for his first 2 years starting and he does it behind a below average offensive line. The only QB's I'll take over Rodgers are Brady, Manning, Brees, and maybe Rivers.
