Thats so true, ive seen teams play like absolute shit for 50 minutes and then turn it on the last 10. The only time I seen the Jets do that was that game in Detroit when we were down 20-10 looking hopeless and we fought back.
I can tell you this, you can get Peyton Manning down three scores and he is going to fight back. He's going to start barking orders even louder than before. He won't let his team go into a shell. He will force them to victory. The Jets do not have this spirit right now, and they desperately need it.
The Jets had it in 2010, that team NEVER quit. Only that 45-3 game they quit but that was because they were just being dominated. If you look at the first 2 years nearly every game was a game the entire 60 minutes. The last 2 years weve seen to many games that just go out of hand early.
This is how the Jets need to be right here... "You never got me down Ray... Hey Ray, you never got me down..." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wwItkoapuA
I know there are reasons why the Jets did not go for it. I just don't see how those reasons square with having confidence in your passing game. One silver lining so far this season, compared to last, is that the Jets have been doing well protecting the ball in the passing game. The one turnover yesterday was on a punt return. The only int so far was early in the Buff game. So how was there some real concern about a turnover before the half? You risk a turnover on pretty much every play. I don't buy it, nor do I buy that the coaches thought they could make some adjustments during halftime. it had all the look of giving up and not having confidence in the passing game.
