Dogged it when having a extremely player friendly contract, half ass when run blocking, in Collision Low Crossers Tannenbaum pointed out during multiple games when breaking the huddle Holmes (and Burress) would telegraph if the play were a run or pass because when passes were called they had a "hop" in their step coming out of the huddle, where when runs were called they dragged ass to the line of scrimmage, threw teammates under the bus, etc. Holmes had the talent, but his shltty attitude ruined it for him, and that's why the Bears cut him only a handful of games into last season and he couldn't find another team. He is more talented than a good amount of slot receivers out there at minimum, but he is a detriment to the team and overall not worth the headache. Enjoy retirement asshole.
