We had Pittsburgh reeling backing up and gassed and Pennington slowed down the tempo before those decissions were made. The run out the clock mentality before we had the lead was not just the coaches.

I am sure that was Pennington. I am sure he made the decision to slow the game down and milk the clock. I have not doubt in my mind that he was instructed to keep the tempo up and try to score a TD by the agressive Edwards.

The other thing about that game, He played with a torn rotator cuff, but you seem to forget that. Is a veteran with a torn rotator cuff better than a rookie that is healthy and not expected to have to win the game, just manage?

No arguments from me about open competition. If the kid beats him out, so be it. The new OL is going to help both of these guys play better so it will be exciting to see it work out.

Getting a TD would have been nice. Running a few plays to get in position to kick a chippy would have been real smart in those conditions and than running out the clock.

As far as Chads shoulder, who forgot his arm was hurt? I don't dispute at all that his shoulder being damaged is why he wasn't good that night. I think it's the prime reason he is no longer a viable top QB. It may have played into how the end of that game was managed?

Honestly I hope the Jets draft a third QB to enter this "competition". At the end of the day, I want the player with the most desire, the one with a killer instinct to be the one throwing the ball. I'm happy with Pennington as a backup but if he can beat out Clemens and a draft pick in camp, then I'd say the Jets are in some MAJOR long term trouble.

CP has always been a team player. Hell, he took a paycut to bring the disgruntled Coles back to the Jets. I havent heard of another starting QB take a paycut TWICE in almost as many years. Coles is'nt going to the off season WO, but CP is. Coles is a starter. CP is not a sure starter. It gives you good idea what type of player CP is. Thomas Jones barely reached 1,000 yards behind the weak O line. He was suppose to be the next Curtis Martin for the Jets. Because of the weak OL, Thomas suffered. CP suffered because TJ could'nt help himout, and because of the OL. OL has been fixed, running game will be great, and the signature play action pass CP brings will fix the passing game. Let the season with CP behind Mangold and I bet you the weak defense of NE will be worried. If CP fails again, we need to draft a QB up the draft board. Kellen can not do any good for the team. If anything, hell, Tuishitpoop will be a better option than Kellen.

What the hell did he do last year to warrant any faith? Answer: nothing. All QBs eventually get past their days as being effective. It has happened to Chad. Nothing he did in 2002 or 2004 is at all realtive. The 2008 Chad is a completely different player.

What the hell did OL do in '07? Lemme guess, they allowed the defense to screw up CP. Look at Bulger, he had a great OL before. That is not the same now as it was when Warner was there. As long as Bulger had a great OL, he was great with Holt. We dont even have anyone close to Holt. Chad completes passes more than anyone in the league. Thats what QB is supposed to do. If QB makes one mistake in a game, he should not be blamed for it. Hell if he is completing 30 passes and throws one pick, I'll take such a QB anyday.

We had no offensive pro bowler or even ex pro bowler on the field last year. Not that I know of atleast. We gonna have 4 pro bowlers on offense this year. That sums up why you QB was functioning. How many OL starters did we replace this year? um...2. Is it CP's fault that almost half of the OL (Parcially D'brick) was ineffective resulting in weak air and ground attack? He doesnt have a 6+ft rec like Moss. He doesnt have speedster like Santana Moss. Cotchery will be great this year and possibly earn a pro bowl. Coles should put up good numbers again and even TJ will have crack at the pro bowl, not to mention Mangold, Faneca, and Woody to have chance at the Pro bowl. Chad gives us the ONLY chance to reach the playoffs and I'll take that chance anyday.

Anyone who would actually consider Brad Smith as the starting QB over Pennington or anyone for that matter should be removed asap from the board.

What offensive position did Shaun Ellis play? You prolly misunderstood. He's a great DE, but I was talking about pro bowlers on the Offensive team.

    my bad, misread the post...

Then no, we have no probowlers because they all left. Cotch doesn't have a chance because of all the WR ahead of him.

We need someone to step up, maybe with the new line TJ could gain 1400+ or Faneca can keep his greatness going or we can see Brick and Mangold finally make it.

Pennington did nothing in that game. He was worse than mediocre. Last year he was worse evern than that. Not one single late game drive. Game losing fourth quarter INTs, come on. Take the poster down. He is an albatross around this team's neck.

Chad will show all you haters up in 2008. I see somebody stated hes not a team player? I totally disagree with that. We forget what he has done for this team he did bring us to 2 playoff apperances. I also think it was very wrong what they did to him up in New England by subbing Brad Smith in when they entered the redzone to run that stupid option.
