    I'm sorry, it's not 64%, it's 63. My memories shot, lol.

Point is the same, arguing comp. %s as proof of inaccuracy is pointlesss. Allens lower number is a product of lousy WRs as much as Mayfields inflate number is due to safe, short passes to open WRs. The difference is negligible.

There are so many damn threads on QBs that I have no idea if you did or didn’t... but I’m gonna assume you didn’t respond to the SI article floating around that has Mayfield head and shoulders above the rest of the class when it comes to NFL throws?

The 56% doesn’t scare me as much as the way Allen misses on some throws. I won’t go too far into it, but it’s pretty much Hackenberg levels of bad. I know he’s not the same prospect...

Still, Wentz went from a 62% thrower in college to a 60% thrower in the NFL. Which is pretty much the norm, college qbs are less accurate throwing against NFL defenses.

To think Allen will become more accurate would be an anomaly.

As far as Mayfield, SI just did a piece and after reviewing all throws determined he was best at making NFL type throws in this class.

I know that doesn’t fit the argument of pro Allen people, but just a fact. However when you root for Allen, you sort of need to disregard facts (I get it) and dream / only think of the potential for greatness and yes, it’s tantalizing if you can be in this world. I’m just not there myself, but if the Jets take him, I’ll be right there + rooting for him.

    If true, It means:

    1. Allen
    2. Darnold
    3. Rosen/Mayfield

I think we could all live with that. :)

If Allen goes 1 I’d celebrate so hard that I’d have a heart attack before even being able to enjoy the Jets NOT drafting him at 3.

If someone wrote that Mayfield is head and shoulders above the rest of the QB class with his their throws, they have no clue what they're talking about. It's not that he has a problem, it's he's not head and shoulders above others.

So would I because the Jets would then be drafting Rosen or Darnold.

One writer for a rag says it true and its fact? Lol, sure. Mayfields arm isn't an issue, don't turn it into that argument but you don't have to be an Allen fan to know he has the better arm. Imagining somehow that there aren't throws Allen can make that others can't though is pure nonsense. Not saying it's all that important but that is the fact.

    Again, accuracy isn't comp. %s.

That's right I didn't. And I'll bet that I can find some article that says Mayfield will bust in the NFL, would you care? Nope, and I don't blame you. One article, one more opinion, why can't you put it in its proper perspective? You're putting it out there as if it's proof of facts

See you really SHOULD read it because claiming it’s an opinion isn’t correct. It’s plenty of data and numbers. I’d understand why you wouldnt want to read it though. Kinda massacres your narrative.

And if you believe anyone can prove this with nothing but numbers you're kidding yourself. Because analytical data doesn't take into account the surrounding talent and that while theyre analyzing passes there isn't a way to differential different offensive philosophies and that Mayfields numbers are padded by throwing a lot of safe passes to wide open receivers. So no, I don't give a damn when someone tries to claim their theory is fact. Geno had a high comp %. Stafford was Allen like. Put numbers to those two and get back to me

I guess it’s really semantics, because better arm doesn’t mean the same things to us (obviously).

Raw throwing ability with no defense + in shorts, there is no comparison. Allen is better.

Just as if you compared Carson Palmer to Drew Brees at the height of their abilities in the same situation.

Still I’d take Drew Brees in a game 10/10 times.

Id take Brees too. But never because of arm strength or who's arm is better. Palmer has the better arm. Brees gets around that deficiency with accuracy but more importantly anticipation. Two different ways to get to a completion.

Beautifully said + why you should like Mayfield over Allen.

There is hope for you yet. :)

If I knew Mayfield had Brees like talent I'd be all over him for the Jets. It's just that it's a projection given his size, nothing about his career says he's s Brees like QB. My argument has never really been Allen is better etc, it's that if he's the pic I'll understand it.

I wish Mayfield was a Brees though, loved Brees coming out of Purdue.
