Whats wrong with what he said? he is right, they were showing highlights at halftime, you are telling me that there were no other game highlights that were better than Tebow on a special teams play? If the Jets let Tebow go at the end of this year his career is over, no other team will pick him up.
It was a gutsy fake punt for a critical first down leading to the jets first score. How is that not a highlight?
If it were a fake punt that Tebow ran for a TD that's a highlight, a play in the sequence of many other plays is just that, a play.
I think the play was a huge play though. It got us back into the game. We were down 10-0 and the O had just failed to produce a drive, when you consider where we did it from and what the score at the time it was a very gutsy high risk play and it also gave teams something to think about. Without the fake punt we probably don't win the game.
Do you feel that showing the fake punt first down in a montage of how the jets scored their first set of points was the right thing to do or the wrong thing? You just said it was the WRONG thing but I want you to be clear and on the record.

As a black American, I legit cringe everytime stupid asses like Sharpe, the Stewarts (both Kordell and Doug), and Rob Parker get on the air and make fools out of themselves. Sharpe can't even speak properly and is so biased in his "analysis" that it's ridiculous. He has so much vitriol and hatred for some players, Tebow in particular, that I don't know how he still has a job. Kordell just carries a chip on his shoulder about a lot of things that he can't unload for some reason. Doug is a fucktard. Plain and simple. And Rob Parker is just a caricature - like a low budget Stephen A. Smith. I haven't watched any of the pregame shows or SportsCenter or First Take this season so maybe they've all changed but it doesn't sound like it based on this thread.

Exactly, faking it on your own 26 is a highlight anytime it works. It had little to do with Tim. Though I'm sure the network was happy to be to be able to flash that Timmy did it.

I saw it when it aired and I laughed because I thought he had a great point. I'm glad that some of these announcers are getting sick of covering a guy who gets 5 yards a game when there are other players busting their asses and being left out. I am hoping more analysts step up and question why we are focusing on 3 yard gains and passes off of Tebow's helmet. Shannon may be a "hater". I don't know because I generally don't watch pregame or halftime shows, but I thought his criticism was spot on.
Same thing happened at UF. Tebow got all the credit and there was never a mention of the incredible players that made him great. It wont end until he busts out of the league. And even then, most Tebow fanatics will blame the NFL for not giving Tebow 'a true shot'.
I'm not a Tebow fan (ask everyone in here that hates me) but a fake punt on your own half of your field with only TD in the first half, it's a highlight. You have the pick, one Bush run, the TD, and Tebow's fake punt. That should be highlight.
