If you know that don't you think the guy who gets paid to run the team and sign the FAs knows that as well .or his cap guy w.e. Us fans need to relax sometimes and let them work. 100m won't be spent on 3 guys and in 24hrs. That's why he made the trade for KO and other guys like that.

I'm going to throw some cold water on this and say I'm not thrilled with the move, IF we are getting the same player he has been in Minnesota for the past few years.

My optomistic side is telling me to believe the Greg Williams was pounding the table for this guy telling Mac he's been playing out of position his whole NFL career but he guarantees he can maximize his potential.
    Here's to hoping for optimism.

You better call and tell Mac that! I don't think he knows that's how the cap money works.

Oh man, this could be bad

Barr's a 4-time pro bowler and was a very good player for the Vikings, even as a 4-3 OLB.

Gregg Williams was also definitely a factor in signing him, I would think.

I will say that if anything, CJ Mosley would be an okay signing for me, not 100% great. That's because he's more of a two down ILB.

You do realize he's made the pro bowl 4 out of the 5 years he's been in the league. All while playing in a different position than in college. Right?

That will be the difference between this coming run and the Rex Ryan run

Shame on you for bringing facts into this...what were you thinking? /Sarcasm

These would be the same people whining like 3 year olds if we DIDNT sign him.

"Waaaaaaah we didnt sign Barr, Mac sucks waaaaah we are letting everyone else sign all the good FAs, I need my binky and my safe space"

I've been on this forum long enough to know that no matter what this team does, even if it is the smartest fuckin move possible, there will ALWAYS be morons on here out to criticize the move or complain about it. It's like a fly on shit. You know they will be buzzing around as soon as news drops

That's understandable, but do me a favor, look at the company he shared in the pro bowl and explain to me how much of a "popularity contest" it was rather than just a talented football player who has had a fantastic young career so far

It’s like that guy dumping on the Crowder signing for him being 29 then when corrected back tracks to ‘well, he still sucks’.

Read Joe Ledyard. Read Jordan Reid. They do not believe Barr is a 1-1 pass rusher. They say he's a blitzer, but not a pass rusher, and there's a difference. I actually just went back and did some quick searches and reviewed some clips of Barr in college, and I actually disagree with them, and think they're wrong after going back to look. Barr seems fine to me. Granted, he hasn't done it in 5 years, but I see no reason why he wont be effective. He's extremely athletic and he's got speed. Should be fun to watch.

I just said that I didn't like it I never said that he was a bad player. He has good and bad aspects to his game, such as being terrific against the run but a liability in coverage. And whether he can or cannot rush the passer he has never proven it in the NFL.

My dislike is more so angled towards a preference of other players such as Kwon Alexander or CJ Mosley at LB. or if we are trying to get someone to rush the passer I would rather have taken a specialist such as a Justin Houston or a Ziggy Ansah.

As I said this is merely a bit of cold water, I haven't passed judgment on this quite yet

Actually, here, I did the work for you. Here are the players that Anthony Barr shared the field with in the pro bowl at the linebacker position last year:

    Khalil Mack
    Ryan Kerrigan
    Olivier Vernon
    Luke Keechly
    Bobby Wagner

And here are the AFC guys he played against, also at the linebacker position:

    CJ Mosley
    Benardrick Mckinney
    Von Miller
    Jadeveon Clowney
    Dee Ford

Fuckin popularity contest I tell ya!

Seems CJ Mosley could be in play, FWIW. I actually am less a fan of Mosley than Barr, because he's more of a two-down LB than a complete one.
