From what I've read of your posts you seem smarter than this. Do you honestly belive that B.B. would have Back-up QB on the team for nearly 4 years with him not knowing the playbook inside and out? Now I'm sure there may be plays that B.B. feels play to Cassel's strengths, so if that's what you mean by "dumbing down" then I agree, but to think that Cassel doesn't know every play in that book would be a mistake. The Boston globe ran a story on exactly this, (Wed.-I think) they broke down the offensive packages that the Pats used last week when Cassel was in last week v.s. a couple games with Brady from last year. To sum up, Cassel in a little over 3 quarters last week ran the pats "O" out of 11 differen't packages & sub-packages with a run to pass ratio of 51-49%. In the couple games they looked at from Brady last year, it was like 14 differen't packges and a ratio of run to pass was basically the same. The bottom line is if your expecting run, run, pass, run, run, pass, I think your in for a surprise. I wouldn't be shocked if the Pats come out on Sunday in an empty backfield set with all kinds of motion to confuse the Jets defense.
I love Z as well. He is a great writer. But so is King. His style is certainly different, but that doesn't make him a bad writer.
This sounds good in Theory and you can add the fact that BB did not sign another Qb to the equation as well. I would hope you will stop by this board on Monday to discuss the game. Your input would be greatly appreciated. I do thing Cassel's problem will have more to do with your offensive line not being that good as opposed to him not knowing the playbook after four years.
I know you want to belive this and it gets repeated so many times that Jets fans just accept it as fact because they want to. Reality, as you will come to learn is much, much differen't. Jet fans fail to explain how, a O-line that gave up the fewest sacks, and pressures in the entire NFL last year, is all of a sudden "Not that Good"??? An O-line that protected a QB well enough for him to throw 50 TD's and still be good enough to all allow for 1600 yards in overall rushing. This is an O-line that sent 3 to the pro-bowl last year, whens the last time the Jets sent any O-line man to the Pro-Bowl??? Yet one single bad game against a great D-line and they can't play anymore? I'm sorry, maybe you just started watching football last year but I didn't. Maybe you can only see what you want to, but I don't. The funny thing is that for many Jet fans, this Sunday could very well end up being one of the most upseting days of their football watching lives. If so it will be for the simple reason they can't tell the difference between what they want to belive and what actually is.
It's an O-line that got Brady put out for the season too. What's it going to do for Cassel who certainly doesn't have Brady's experience or sense of the rush. You were playing KC last week not the Jets.
It happens. The Jet's O-line went from top 4 in the NFL to below average in one streak of about six games from the end of 2004 to the beginning of 2005. They allowed 11 sacks in the last 3 games of the 2004 season including playoffs and then allowed 9 in the first 3 games of 2005. Last year the Pat's pass protection broke down in the Super Bowl and that's the main reason they lost. In the opener in the first quarter they lost their MVP because they couldn't keep blitzers off of him. I think after those two games you need to re-evaluate exactly how good the Pat's line still is. Sunday will be a good test of that because the Jets will be sending a lot of bodies Cassel's way.
Clearly you don't know what your talking about now, it wasn't the O-line, it was Sammy Morris in biltz pick up on the Safety.
Do you guys even understand football?? As I've said Jet fans want to belive what they "Want to Belive", it's clearly not about facts or what really in front of them. As I said in the last post it was Sammy Morris in blitz pick up against a Safety that caused Brady's injury. Anyone of you Mensa members want to explain how that's the O-lines fault?
king is a douche... he rants and raves about everything besides football, his trip was delayed or his coffe picks who gives a shit... fuck em...
The Giants stomped you out and Tom Brady is going under the knife with a Torn Acl and Mcl after 1 game because a mediocre player came up the middle of your weak line last week. If you don't see the writing on that wall I don't know what to tell ya. Do you realize that you played 6 games against the Bills, Jets and Dolphins last year? Basically no rush. Add games with the mighty Bengals, Browns and Redskins and it is easy to see why Brady went unsacked alot. Look at the schedule and get back to me. Not to mention the Ravens were a shell of their former selves last year. That is 10 of sixteen games against Mediocre pass rushes plus a Colt team with no Freeny! Im not professing that the Jets will take the division or even beat the Pats but I am saying that your misguided Patriot arrogance will be checked this year. You want to believe your line is better than it is.
Was it Sammy Morris in the Super Bowl also? Great offensive lines play great in the biggest games. The Pat's offensive line looked weak and undermanned.
Wow the football I.Q. of Jet Nation is even lower than I thought it was. You don't even know enough about the game of football to understand that the Pats O-line had "ZERO" "Nothing" to do with Brady's injury. You boys are in for a dose of reality.
yea he got hurt because you shitty lineman couldnt put a weak sauce safety on his ass he pushed him and he fell and happened to get pollard ankle... tell those uglies to block better ya poont
And I supposed all those Juggernaut teams you played last year had nothing to do with your line not getting exposed until the playoffs Huh?
So one bad game against one of the Best D-line in the league is means more than the 18 games before in which they gave up the fewests sacks in the league??? Is that what you mean to say? Do Jet fans realize how dumb they sound to the rest of the football watching world?
Do you realize the teams you played against last year basically s**ked for the most part until the playoffs? You played maybe five games against decent teams. Half of the games were layups or are you going to pretend that the six games against the other afc east teams and the Bengals were not freebies last year?
Another Jet fan with "super I.Q." that just started watching football. Is there not a single Jet fan among you that understands O-line play even a little??? Let me put it in terms you may understand. Do you blame the WR if the kicker misses a field goal? This should be fun, I'll bet you don't have clue what I'm talking about.
