Tebow experiment will be a total failure, the games will be unbearable to watch with all the stupid tebow chants that will be going on and it wont matter if we win the game by 40 and sanchez throws for 4 td`s all the freaks care about is if their second coming is playing in the game!
even though I will b!tch and complain the whole season if my prediction is true, here it is.... Tebow with take over the starting job by week 10, and we will discover he is really the anti-Christ and the world will sink into a new dark age. Lord Revis, have mercy on us!
He will be used successfully in wildcat type situations. If Sanchez plays well,he will be the starter. To think that Sanchez will be replaced even if he is playing well enough to keep his job is fucking stupid. If they replaced Sanchez to please the Jesus freaks that follow Tebow,as soon as he struggles everyone becomes satan worshippers? Stupid
I do not want Tebow on this team. He will successfully run the wildcat. He will cause more issues than he will solve
No matter how well Tebow does he won't start enough to trigger the pay bumps in his contract. Team can't afford both QBs at that rate. So regardless of performance I don't see Sanchez being benched permanently. I only see a full time Tebow if Sanchez gets injured. Even then I'm still somewhat iffy about it. Overall I think it is a bad move for all the circus effects but I am optimistic that it will have at least the same effect of any other player who can run a great wildcat. Possibly more because the teams we play will have to spend more time preparing for more option plays (although the same could be said of just playing a lot of options with Sanchez, a la 2009). I don't have a feeling one way or another whether it will push Sanchez. I do think if the fans roar for Tebow every offensive play it's going to demoralize him along with the rest of the offense. I think we go 11-5 this season (ok I'm an optimist) but I don't attribute the wins to Tebow any more than if we had another serious wildcat threat. I attribute it to better coaching on the offensive side, a return to the ground and pound, and getting to have a full off season (IMO a major reason for the Jets flopping last year was a change in strategy to a passing offense but without the full off season to develop the strategy and cohesion). But the media will spend the whole season giving Tebow credit.
I want for Sanchez to come into his own this season and become a respected quarterback that doesn't have to deal with every sports writer throwing dirt on him all the time. BUT... I think that Tebow will end up starting if he has success in the wildcat. This will be due to the fact that having Tebow on the field makes us a better at running the ball, which we plan on doing a lot this year. Unless Sanchez dramatically improves the value of having his arm on the field (the team not signing a real #2 wideout yet is a bad sign for this[Braylon PLEASE]), it will just make sense to replace him with someone who has the ability to add another dimension to the running attack.
Tebow will start at least one game this season and perform well We will make the playoffs and win at least one playoff game no matter the QB
Tebow will have 1k+ all purpose yards on the ground alone. He will have both receptions and handoffs from Sanchez, Wildcat snaps for runs, and I wouldn`t surprised if he had some runbacks on kicks and punts. I think he gets a lot of carries that would have gone to Greene, esp goal line carries. And think by the end of this season, it will be Shonn Greene that is the odd-man out more than Sanchez. This will happen even sooner if the Jets acquire another all-purpose back before the season starts. And most of all, Tebow and Sanchez will be more of a perfect team than the ego-driven power trip everybody thought it would be. Edit: scratch the first sentence, I`ll go even further and give him 1300+ all purpose yards on the ground this season
Instead of trying to predict what Rex and Co. will do, I'd rather state what they should do. What they might do has too many factors to consider at this point (Tebow's contract escalators, Sanchez's dead cap money if cut/traded, Front office throwing good money after bad because Sanchez is their guy) So if you haven't figured it out by now, I think the Jets should start Tebow week 1. He is a better Quarterback than Mark Sanchez, even with only 16 starts under his belt.
Our offensive football outlook is based on a couple a factors Getting a viable RT, Speedy WR and a Blocking TE If Mike T doesn't do anything with these three positions on offense we will be fleabowing by mid season; it also telling that we are not a football team anymore and just a money grabbing business posing as a football team.
There are a hand-full of things that would prove Tebow a better QB than Sanchez. None of those things will ever happen though, because it isn't true.
If I were a Jets fan, this move would bother me to no end. Tebow is more of a polarizing figure, no matter how united he attempts to make his team. He doesn't have the on-field ability to make up for the locker room divide. The Pats figured him out late last season, and even the George Edwards led Bills D manhandled him the very next game. Also, Sanchez getting the big contract, then bringing in Tebow (one week after getting another #2 QB who since got pissed and demanded a trade to Indy, of all places) shows that the FO is sending mixed signals to the players, both on the Jets and around the league. FA's may have wanted to play on a Rex Ryan team in his first few seasons, but now expect to see players looking for the payday. The draft at this point is the Jets best shot at getting quality players, and even if they hit, would need two drafts to fix the holes and depth at a SB run. Since I am a Bills fan, I love the move.
NY media will have the time of their lives. People want Mark benched if we go on a 2+ losing streak. Mark will remain starter throughout season. Tebow gets more reps. Miss playoffs.
We'll play a pretty easy schedule so we've got a good chance to make the playoffs even with a good bit of controversy, unless things really go to hell. Tebowmania is real and I predict it will have a significant impact and maybe we'll see at least one kneejerk starting QB reaction from Rex. Who knows beyond that. Maybe Sanchez cracks and goes AWOL Barrett Jones style but gets his job back when the Tebow gay sextape surfaces, which gives us the spark to go on an epic Super Bowl run.
Early on Tebow will be a gadget but then we will start to suck then Tebow will become our starting quarterback also I think we will see a more mechanically sound Tebow, way better passer then last year
This thread should come in May so that we can evaluate if Tannebaum has completely lost his ever-loving mind and fucked up the draft. Tebow and Sanchez will coexist as players and will actually enjoy each other's company. Sanchez will improve again, as per usual. This may only be marginally because we have only done three things for the offense: Schilens, Hunter, and get rid of Schottenheimer. I have to believe Sparano will be better that Schotty but the jury is still out. Sanchez will fuck up one game for us, which is a usual occurrence in the NFL for all quarterbacks. If it's early in the season, Tebowmania will grow restless. If it's late, hopefully Sanchez has regained the swagger of '09/'10 and early '11 before Mangold's injury pantsed him. Tebow will be a successful WC QB, but may complete as little as 16 passes. If, for some reason, Sanchez is hurt or goes insane and Tebow becomes the starter, the offense will be semi-retarded but we will stay in games because it's Tebow. I think Sparano will be creative and get him involved in 'normal' packages too and we will enjoy some Sanchez/Tebow on field interactions. I think it's a potentially cool looking offense and I am somewhat excited, although I don't understand what in God's name Tannenbaum is doing. Maybe there's a method to his madness or maybe he drank some antifreeze. I wish I could say we return to the playoffs but like I said, Chaz Schilens and Hunter/Ducasse are supposed to be how we improve the O from the last year as it stands.
