frustrated, this sucks, seriously, I cannot believe what is going on with this situation, I am just going to blame this on Pete Kendall, Partial sarcasm
let's wait until russell signs his contract. we will look dumber than the cleveland browns when they gave up their 08 top 10 pick for brady quinn. and by "we" i mean tannenbaum
Damn you've been repeating the same shit for a few days now. We all agree that Tannenbaum is messing up, at least most of us...But you just keep harping and saying the saaaaaaaame thing. DeWayne Robertson sucks...Maybe I can get you to stop repeating the same things.
Ballhawk, we get it for God's sake, you're mad the Jets haven't signed Revis. This is really starting to impact your mental health.
what does that have to do with anything? :rofl2: besides, there is an ignore feature. make use of it. heck, just put every non-homer on your list.
if this has been posted my bad - from scout.com Revis situation at a turning point? By Tony Pauline- TFY Draft Posted Aug 7, 2007 As his holdout closes in on two weeks and running, circumstances outside the control of the New York Jets and Darrelle Revis may force the two sides to reach an agreement. Here's the latest. While both sides are still entrenched in their positions, an injury to All Pro return specialist and cornerback Justin Miller could force the hand of the New York Jets. A league source confirmed last night that Miller injured his leg during Sunday's practice. And while the severity of the injury is not known, this simple confirmation is telling. As we previously reported, Miller's play in training camp thus far has been impressive and coaches have been encouraged by the improvement shown at cornerback by the former second round pick. So much so sources told us that was one reason why the Jets have not budged on offering Revis a six year deal. If Miller is out of action for an length of time, it could force the Jets hand to shave a year off the proposed contract. According to sources, the Revis camp "is as resolved as ever" to make sure their client receives a five-year deal or a six-year contract which can be voided after the fifth year. And who can blame them. Outside of the top five selections every player drafted in round one has either signed a six- year deal voidable after the fifth year or a straight five-year contract. As it was put to us, the Jets demanding Revis sign a six-year deal equates to Revis demanding nothing more than a four-year contract from the team. In other words, compared to the market value of contracts given to first-round picks, it's a bit ridiculous. Once they agree on the length of the contract the two sides must then agree on money. Sources told us today the Jets and Revis have not talked dollars and cents since they can't agree on the length of the contract. http://nflexperts.scout.com/2/665716.html
Again, you just stay in your own little box... 90% of us here are mad that Tannenbaum is playing hardball with Revis when clearly he is in no position to do so. Homer? Where? I bring up Robertson sucks just so you can talk about something else, instead of repeating the same thing on Tanny.
no, you guys (i know we have about 4-5 tannenbaum fanatics in here that don't want to hear anything negative regarding tannenbaum) are just pissed because tannenbaum can't get the deal done. don't act like you're mad at me and don't expect me to sit here and be quite while tannenbaum keeps screwing up.
The thing about a game of poker is you have to keep your cool until the last card is dealt and the last bet is called. None of this matters until it does.
Problem is at this point the river card has happened and both made a Broadway straight. Split pot. Nobody gains anything.
thats not healthy  plus i've been (kinda) quite the first few days, because its not that big of a deal for him to miss a few days of training camp. but now we're getting at a point where this holdout could easily ruin his season
Why would anybody ignore you? I know I personally feel so much better about myself after I read your stuff.
"Keep your cool" and "DaBallhawk" waived bye bye to each other a long time ago on this one. Hawk, I'm not a Tannenbaum apologist, but rather, I just don't see the need hit the panic button because our 1st round pick isn't in camp 4 days before the first of four preseason games. Sorry, just not that worried about it.
Bingo. I'm no homer at all. I want Revis to get the deal he feels is best for him. At the same time, I want Tanny to do what's right for the team long term. Those who think Revis is the critical piece to us winning a Super Bowl this year are in for a rude awakening. If we make it to the title game, it won't be thanks to Revis, and chances are, we're not getting there this year anyway. This is a long-term situation, not an "us vs. them" situation as Kendall would love for everyone to believe. Revis will get a deal that is fair to him, and to the Jets. If it makes me a homer or a Tannenbaum apologist because I want to be assured that 5 years from now we don't have to make a decision between one of our great offensive linemen, or our starting CB, then I'm all for Tanny taking his time and putting together a deal his way, and I'll just be content to be a homer.
I still believe there is alot more to this than just # of years in the contract. If that was it...the solution would be extremely simple: 5 year deal w/ a 6th option. As I stated earlier...1st round CB's are known for holding out b/c agents know within the next 3 years their base salary price tag will sky rocket(it always does). This is very typical for an early round CB.
