I think they had 1 TO left, let's say they run Lynch and he gets stuffed then they have to use last TO and have to throw last 2 downs. The NE DB made a great play, I would have run it too but you have to credit that DB for that play.
Beyond a stupid play call especially when you look at how Lynch was wearing that defense down and was gaining positive yardage on almost every play. He could've literally crawled into the EZ with how easily he was breaking their tackles. And they call a pass from the 1 yard line. I'd hate to be a Seahawks fan today. I feel bad for Pete Carroll.
Just a perfect way to cap off one of the most miserable seasons in Jet history. Couldn't have ended any other way. Hopefully Jets are close to hitting rock bottom and Pats' reign is close to an end. Can't go on forever this way can it?
If you rewatch that play if Wilson would have taken a little more time he could have easily ran in for the td
calling a pass play is one thing but Wilson was killing them w/ his legs. why didn't he run or why didn't they throw a safe pass?
To me, if Carroll instructed a pass play, make it safe one, play action to Lynch and if the TE is covered, throw it away. Stops the clock and guarantees 2 more plays, barring a TO.
