Well, Hobbes was having a normal dinner afterwards but, that method I'm sure keeps total calories down, it's not ideal for weight loss, because that's too much of the day where your digestion is doing absolutely nothing and your metabolism is down.

Yea i didn't read up that far but that is pretty darn low for calorie intake. I mean if you want to lose weight and have muscle, calories are an ideal part of the plan. But if you just want to drop the pounds and have to tie your extra skin in a knot then keep the calories to under 800. I can't imagine limiting that to 1 days worth of cals...

I've found anything under 15-1600 to be pretty difficult. I've gotten to 222 from 255 four months ago by mostly controlling what i eat, as opposed to how much of it.

If thats the case, you scam yourself. The gym isnt stopping you from getting your ass up and going to it. Im actually about to leave now for it. I joined the gym back in June ( i think ) and have been eating right and put on almost 20 lbs. of bulk in the process. Just saying...

On the subject of gyms, I don't think Yis or I meant that gyms are totally useless. What I gathered from KS' original message was that he just finally "decided" that it was time to hit a gym. Instead, he's just returning to one, which is a totally different story.

Basically, a gym is GREAT, if you're committed to using it regularly. That's not why people open them though. They open them because they know they can sell 2000 memberships, and only have capacity for 150 people, since only 50-60 members will ever show up regularly.
    -----------

Hobbes, that diet is insane. Your blood is probably soup right now. I hope that's not the diet you plan on staying on. Of course consuming less calories is going to force your body to lose weight. If you're at a caloric deficit, there's no way around weight loss. Doesn't sound very healthy though.

You def need more calories man... esp. if your doing 4 miles a day. Then you lift... do you feel worn out when you do or what? I dunno how you do it to be totally honest.

I just keep picturing you as Christian Bale from The Machinist.

In my case, the gym is only going to be costing me $19.99 a month. Hardly a ripoff even if I only go 3 times a week.

I am back to 198. Only took 3 weeks. From now on will be the hard part.

By the way, Training Camp 2006 I bought 2XL shirts. Training Camp 2007 I was happy to buy XL shirts. And this year I bought L shirts, which are a little too loose on me. Good times!!!

Dam B, 255?....how tall are you? Glad you are down to 222.

I have helped few people lose weight and get into decent shape. One you are committed to it, it's very easy in the beginning. Because your body is used to burning certain amount of calories no matter how much or how little you eat. So, basically if you are out of shape and you start to control your diet and become very active, you can lost as much as 5lbs every few days. When they see this quick result on the scale it motivates them even more and they start to eat even less and work out even more until they hit the wall. That's when they stop the regular workout and goes back to regular food and start to gain weight again.
