I agree...but I think there will be quite a few teams bidding for him. He wont come as cheap as most on here think.
Of course he won't. It doesn't matter what level of ability a quarterback has, they are the most expensive position on the field. But he won't cost starter money. Unless he signs with a team like Jacksonville.
You're correct in spirit, although most of the people arguing for Smith think he will be The Answer. The same people hating Sanchez fervently. He won't be worth the price.
Each side is making arguments that are mutually exclusive from each other. You argue that Alex Smith is better than Sanchez which can not be argued if we look only at recent history. Others argue that Alex Smith was as bad or worse than Sanchez at the same point in their careers. That also really can not be argued. The problem is neither side is acknowledging these arguments to be valid. The possibility remains that Alex Smith can regress when removed from the 49ers coaches and personnel just as there remains the possibility that Sanchez can experience a renaissance with improved coaching and personnel just as Smith did.
I HATE MARK SANCHEZ I think the only thing Smith has an advantage of his accuracy and and mobility. Mark's got the better arm, mark can take more of a beating IMO, and Mark has proven he can help you win a big game. Alex Smith did beat the Saints, but we all know that Saints team couldn't win on the road. Also I think you have to consider two WRs - Santonio Holmes and Michael Crabtree. both have expressed frustrations with their respective QBs - many thought Crabtree was a bust, I think Kaep helped save his career and Crabtree is experiencing a breakout season as we speak. Holmes and Sanchez developed chemistry in 2010 and 2011 at a far quicker pace and were more effective I think overall at the end of the day. Cannot stand sanchez, but urgh Alex Smith makes me want to puke. Freaking Harbaugh and Norv Turner coached this kid up and he's still a game manager at best. Imagine if Mark got that type of coaching? I HATE MARK SANCHEZ
Report: Alex Smith has been "effectively traded" http://tracking.si.com/2013/02/24/alex-smith-trade-traded-49ers-chiefs-jaguars/ Speculation is that he is going to either the Chiefs or Jaguars (but at this point that's pure speculation).
he isn't going to the jaguars, the GM said so. so its clearly the chiefs. also, the cardinals supposedly are in love with matt barkley. this gives us a serious chance at landing geno smith. i know a lot of people give this guy shit on here, but i still think he could propel this tea,
people hate on ryan fitzpatrick, but he isn't horrible. he had 24 TDs and 16 INTs. its their defense that absolutely stinks. and also if they wanted ryan nassib im pretty sure they could get him in the 2nd round
I wouldn't want this guy here either. He wont survive in NY and hes not any different than sanchez if you dig deep. Lets stop taking other teams trash please.
My cousin lives in New Jersey has a buddy who works with the Jets, and he was told it was the Jets who got Smith for Revis. There's picks involved, but he's not sure what. from this thread http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=152120643 Not my words
Stuff posted on that forum is slightly more reliable than Kim Jong-Il's philosophy on the welfare of the masses.
That's two levels of relation (cousin, buddy) and one of location (Wisconsin, New Jersey). That's like a 98.9% chance it's pure bullshit. If he'd said "I know a guy who should know who thinks it's Jets/Revis" then it's a 98.8% BS chance.
This gave me a good laugh Anyway, I think he'll do well under Reid in KC, they would certainly have talent around him.
