so much self-loathing on this board this sort of shit should make you mad at the media not the team they are the ones treating the jets as though they are a reality tv show. theres real drama going on on other teams with players refusing to play and stuff like that but its the jets who are dysfunctional... keep buying in, its what keeps them going...
Honestly, I just thought his whole routine was a little awkward; the Hurricane Sandy thing was kind of funny, but Broadway Joe's part made me cringe.
As much as I think Baldwin is a no talent assclown, there must be a bunch here that are happy he found a way to shut Namath's mouth.
I thought comparing the Jets with the Sandy aftermath was in poor taste. I have no problem with anyone making fun of the Jets. We've earned it.
the jets will cease being called a circus when they start winning and stop the in-fighting. hopefully this guy idzik can rein-in things and set a good example.
The ridiculous bit of all this is that fellow Jets fans are just giving in to the media's scathing commentary about the Jets. Never in my life have I seen a 6-10 team in the NFL receive so much attention, and I don't think I ever have seen an NFL receive so much NEGATIVE attention except maybe the 2010 Jets with all the scandals that took place that season. My point is that we as fans shouldn't just sit here and accept this unfair verbal beating from the media as valid and warranted; this is our first losing season since 2007, and the media jumps all over this team, you would have thought we went 0-16. I don't see the Bills or the Browns or the Jags or the Cardinals etc receiving the same kind of criticism when they are in worse shape than this franchise. What has substantially changed since the successes in 09 and 10? We signed Plaxico, let go of Braylon, didn't work out. LT retired, Sanchez hasn't played well enough. Sparano didn't work out as OC, we had a decline... big deal! Do these moves warrant the absurd criticism leveled against this franchise? Absolutely not in my opinion. All this team has to do is manage the cap situation, get in a good starting QB and we are right back in the thick of the playoff race.
The Media Drivel is just highlighting the disfunction that our team provides. It was quite obvious that we have been poorly managed there for a couple of years and the loaded roster was the only off set that prevented it from being the only thing to report. I am pretty used to the Jets being the laughing stock of the NFL ; on par with how the Bengals were looked at for so long. Now Kotite level's , not quite yet , but we are getting there. As someone mentioned, winning changes everything .
Trust me wwe would miss the attention if we were just a losing team in the shadows like the Jaguars and the Browns, And i thought we were becoming elite after 09-10
Besides the cash owed, why did Johnson keep Rex? The ringmaster will always be talking and providing sound bites to the media. What can Rex acually do that provides value to the team other than PR? Whether good or bad that seems to be Rex's job.
You want the Jets to shed negative stigma. Here's what they should do: 1. WIN Games 2. Bring accountability 3. Get an image consultant
When we were successful in 2009 and 2010 we thrived on the underdog mentality; the brash talk fed into that. With many of the same cast that same quality took on a different meaning because we lost more games in '11 and '12.
