If Girardi has a binder, why doesn't it tell him that Jeter is pretty lousy against RHP?

Have to guess he gets to give up maybe 2 runs before it gets turned over to Hughes, Soriano, Robertson and Rivera...no need to save them Joe (asshole)

Even if, like AMJets, you believe that Girardi did fine in game 2, you have to think he blew it last night letting Martin bat in the ninth. You have Montero just sitting there. You just need one, and as much as I like Martin, he hasn't hit most of the year. The tying run is on base. Put in a pinch hitter and try to drive it in!

It was also stupid to pitch Soriano two innings when he hadn't done it at all this year. I understand not wanting to micromanage, especially when it makes you look desperate, but you are desperate!

Now it's in AJ's hands. Fuck baseball. Fuck MLB.

And for those who think the Yankees, specifically CC vs Verlander, didn't get screwed on pitch calls, here's the graph for the game.

It's hard to pitch when you throw good pitches to good hitters and they're called balls. Especially when the other guy is getting the calls.

c'mon guys!! rally cry!!! i know AJ is a bum, but this the new york yankees, the only team we've ever been able to count on for any kind of joy in our lifetimes.
It's not over. Fuck Detroit, and i hope Cano sticks a Portobello mushroom right up Porcello's ass tonight!!!

Despite losing...did anyone really think the Yankees had the potential to win it all with this pitching staff?

We knew this was going to happen.

Who's out there for starting pitching?

the phillies are in a spot to go down 2-1, and they have the best staff by far.
it's a weird game, and i'm not rolling over yet. that prick closer on detroit really bothers me. looks like a fuckin' slob out there.

I think it's hard to argue that our staff wasn't good enough to win this particular series. You know CC is going to be tough, squeezed or not. I didn't expect Nova to fall off a cliff in October either. So that's two games our pitchers would have us in.

If you had told me Garcia would get into the 6th giving up only 3 runs, I'd have signed up for that in a heartbeat.

Friday killed us. CC was on and the Yankees had already inflated Verlander's pitch count when the rain stopped it. That lost us both CC and Nova for one game. We didn't have the depth to deal with that, but who expected something so ridiculous as MLB ignoring the weather reports?

The only guy I dislike more than Valverde is Papelbon.

I don't. I never want to see him again this year because I want to be up 10 in the ninth every game.

That's what he was saying... heading into the series, he didn't expect Nova to suddenly start to suck.

I think the Yanks have a decent shot today. AJ will be on a short, short leash. Porcello is still very young, but he's just as shitty as AJ (same ERA+, very similar WHIP). And the Yankees have the better bullpen.

The Yankees should win this game.

oh i dig. hard to tell sometimes...

i think porcello is slightly better, but the pen is in the yankee favor and the tigers appear a bit more clutch.
