Here, I'll bring you up to speed. Not sore losers here...Season is over, but we can continue rolling with our 27 rings around world of baseball too. Yankees have issues with their pitching and at least 2012 looks more prosperous for this team then your team. So we move on.
Quit crying. The Yankees were champs 2 years ago. Kind of hard to do that well with only 1 good pitcher, who was a little off, this series. Plenty of chances to win no doubt, but it has been a pretty successful season. I wonder if we have seen the last of Rivera and Posada?
spell check, fool. We aren't in Kindergarten here. btw AMJets- I'd take Francona in a second over Joe Girardi. Maybe Girardi decides to run to the Cubbies and then Cashman calls Francona. Would be hilarious.
You're right. Yankee fans should embrace the modern age. Here's a more contemporary comback: At least we didn't complete the worst late-season collapse in baseball history after being deemed the greatest team ever. Hey, the Yankees lost. I get it. You're pleased about that. And I'm happy that you can take some joy out of that. Schadenfreude in sports amounts to nothing more than sloppy seconds, but if that's all you can get, then you should get it. Just know your place.
im not a fan of any team in the playoffs, my enjoyment in this stems from others disappointment. had the giants made it and collapsed(again), i'd expect nothing but the same from those here.
CC and his GIANT gut clearly ran out of gas down the stretch. He won his 19th on September 4th, and finished with 19. He was not the ace Verlander was and he gave up the winning run tonight. To be fair, the Yanks don't even sniff the playoffs without him. That being said, they went 2 deep with starters (Sabathia/Nova) and never got clutch hits. They relied too much on the HR all year and those are always hard to come by in the postseason. A first round elimination (while as a Yankees fan sucks ass) is not at all surprising.
Well,I don't think we would have got past Texas and certainly would not have beat Philly or the brewers. Of course i would rather have had the chance to see. I can't stand Arod. Why martin was still in there taking swings at shit and watching strikes go by I don't know.
3 runs for this lineup should have been nothing to overcome. I still can't believe we left the bases loaded 3 fukin times! What team blows those chances in the playoffs?
Sadly, if you watched them all year, you know that they won 97 games by beating up on bad pitching and relying HEAVILY on the 3 run HR. The clutch hits were rarely there in the regular season. They just out slugged teams. Really, it's amazing they had the regular season they had considering the starting pitching. Unfortunately, when things tighten up in the playoffs, you need good starting pitching and clutch hitting. CC gassed in early September and Nova is a rookie. Beyond them, no pitching at all.
