Pretty cool picture that I don't think was posted anywhere yet. I am calling an 80 yard TD bomb from Sanchez to Braylon in the first quarter, assisted by the little man Aiden. It's GO Time.
What this means to me is that there are much, much more important things in life then who wins some game. That being said, if Aiden wants a Jet win, then let's get a g.d. Jet win.
Question was asked else where What does playing like a Jet mean? We havent really won anything in ages. But im all for the movement. Its not a hot topic (wasnt when it started). But it should have been!
http://www.jetsinsider.com/blogs/christopher_nimbley/?p=595 Take some luck, mixed with a maximizing of potential, constant hard-work, the ability to fight through injuries, doing whatever it takes to get the job done and being a walking, talking, football playing example of the definition for resiliency, then throw leading the league in wins on top of all that and that’s your definition of what it means to, ‘Play like a Jet.’
I always laughed when I heard our big sloppy coach talk about Play Like a Jet. I wanted to ask the same thing. "What that supposed to mean?"
A very sad story. Having said that, I'm going to be a wet noodle or worse now. What Sanchez did was great. The child has passed. I don't like the idea of using his tragic story as some kind of motivational thing for a football game. If Aidan were still in this world, I'd be OK with it. Not now. If the team could have told Aidan if he were still alive that this game was for him, that's a very different thing. It's too late for that now. Sorry, just how I see it.
<<<<< fully behind this. its my facebook pic as well now. i cried like a bitch when i read that story. i hope his spirit takes this team farther than its been over the last 42 years.
I've got mixed emotions about this as well. To tack the team's playoff performance to this kids sad, sad story just puts unrealistic pressure on everyone involved. It remains a truly beautiful thing the team and especially Mark Sanchez did for Aiden in his difficult time. But that benevolence should stand on it's own. The purity of it is enough...at least to me, and remains untarnished no matter how the Jets play.
Aiden is either completely gone, or in another place where he is likely not concerned with the plight of our favorite team, depending on what you believe, and the outcome of any playoff run is inconsequential. His family, however, is still here, and I bet they'll be watching.
I'll root for the jets to win a regular season game in 2011(2012?) for this kid. Preferably a win against the patsies.
Some people don't have a shred of heart in their bodies, "Tampa Jack" at barstoolsports is one of em: Scum. Fucking scum.
