As I told 3rd some posters are just delusional or afaid to say they erred in there past support of the former regime
No doubt about it Cavka was going to play last year. JP Machado was very good depth, he took abuse on these boards but he did a good job for us when he had to play. People expected a backup to play like an All-Pro and that wasn't reasonable. Brent Smith was a desperation signing. In 2004 the OL was Mawae, Moore, Kendall, McKenzie and fabini. 3 of the 5 were brought in AFTER Parcells- how did he build that line? We are abck to giving Parcells credit for everything? yet no one talks about all the talent he inherited when he took over and no one talks about all the talent left here for the new regime. Just so we are straight, when parcells inherits talent it's all b/c of his shrewd GM moves and coaching, when herm inherits talent it's all b/c of the previous regime and when Herm and Bradway leave talent it's all b/c of the new regime that just took over? Last year's debacle was all about injuries. We played FIVE QBs, lost our top 2, lost a HOF RB, lost our starting TE, had ONE OL(Moore) start and end the year in the same position, lost a PB DE, lost a PB caliber DT, lost our best defensive player from '04(Barton). That is why we sucked especially missing Chad and we have seen the difference in this team when Chad plays and when he does not.
Herm is doing very well w/ KC, we are doing very wlel w/ mostly players left here by our previous regime. How did I err? I was proven correct a long time ago but if people didn't believe it then this year certainly proves it.
Slow down there. Shall we go through the long list of Bradway draft picks that have been shown the door this year? Dreesen, Strait, Cavka, Goodwin, Maddox, Bollinger,.... McCareins is a dissappointment and invisible, say good-bye in the offseason. Same with Blaylock. Brandon Moore is average on a good day. How many false starts does he have this year? More than either rookie on the line. I can't stand the love Askew gets on this board. The guy just isn't good. Can barely run, and his blocking is nothing to write home about. His days are numbered. Or haven't you noticed the FO signing all of those FBs (Martin and Hodgins) and drafting Pociask to be a blocking TE/FB. And the jury is still out on Nugent. He had one good game in 2 years. His KOs are still not that impressive. So whether it was a "good" move or not remains to be seen. Same can be said for Robertson, he has had a few good games at NT, but will it last? (Mind you question marks after 3 years in the league is not such a good thing for a someone drafted at number 4, and who the Jets gave up 3 draft picks for.) Jury is still out on Hobson, Houston, and Coleman. And Miller is a great return guy, but is sorely lacking as a CB. Out of 5 years of drafting, there are maybe 8-9 players definitely worth keeping. And if "they brought in enough OL help to keep us good" the Jets wouldn't have gone through 2 QBs last year, have to spend 2 1st round picks on the line, and have Goodwin as the primary backup for 3 positions for 3 years (and if you can't see the problem with this take a look at the depth chart this year for the OL and see how it is supposed to be). Bradway's tenure is not such a rousing success as you make it out to be.
No my son no longer goes to Wharton he gradulated some years back. BTW what does spelling or syntex have to do with A. Jones being busted for DUI?
I just can't keep up with your rhetoric anymore. Your manlove for the previous regime is too much to take. If you see a lump of crap in the street are you going to try and find a way to tell me that it's really a diamond if you look at it in proper lighting? And for the record, I'm not looking that far into the team's history when speaking of one of the best OL's in recent memory. And for the record, the OL of 2000 (Elliot , Jenkins, Mawae, Thomas, Fabini) and 2001 (Fabini, Jenkins, Mawae, Thomas, McKenzie, Young as B/U) blow away your 2004 group. Years ago, when they spoke of the menacing Jets OL, it was those lines held in high regard, not 2004.
Well Abyzmul psoted when hired Herm was told to leave the KC O alone. Maybe if Woody had done that then the Herm regime may have tirned out differently. This is only year 1 of the "new" regime & already look at how many ex Hermers there are. This off season there will be many more & then you may be abke to count the remainder of the Hermers on one hand. Also, you erred by backing Herm & Bradway who were bith fired which means whatever they were charged to do they failed & you & MD big dog amonst others were Herm BIGGEST backers on this board. Myself I wondet why you did not transfer your loyalty to KC when they hired him. BTW Herm has games left with Balt, SD & Sea so I would not be jumping on his band wagon so quickly in KC yet
The injuries to Chad and Fiedler occurred BEFORE Fabini and Mawae were injuried and they were still starting. Great OL play there. Jones had more than enough opportunity to start but lost his job to Clement. Morley, Katnick, Snell, Machado, Cavka, all long term projects. Not really great depth.
I was never a huge Herm/Bradway fan champ. I just never liked/agreed with your arguments against them.
Well it sure appeared like you are were a HUGE booster of Herm. In any case that was was a well thought out post
Actually it appeared that way to you, but it was not the case. I just didn't agree with your arguments and analysis most of the time. For example we might both agree the sky is blue, but if you think it is blue because a smurf exploded and I think it is blue because of particles in the air, I am not going to agree with you. You took that as I being a Herm booster, your assumptions were incorrect.
H'mmm it sounds to be like a big back tracking expedition on your part to clear your name to become anti Herm instead of pro Herm since FB is black/white so either U R 4 or against the guy there are no in betweens. So if you were against as you now contend then why were you constantly posted pro Herm post to my anti Herm posts?
I think that he already accounted for the above. Why not just let it go. Neither one of you likes Herm so let's call it a day. Catfights suck...
I hate reading this kind of stuff that happens early Saturday mornings in season. I know that walk throughs were moved back a few hours this year, but these guys should still be at home getting rest. Two nights before a game is the most important night of sleep in terms of your physical presence. It really pisses me off that players stay out till 4am like that...let alone drive home drunk. I hope Mangini really comes down on him.
Agreed KOZ, didn't mean it to turn it into a "catfight," just don't like to be misrepresented. But I made my point, so I will leave it at that. I apologize, didn't mean to derail the topic.
