The Dolphins played great on both sides of the ball yesterday. The D was ferocious and the offense played aggressive. They threw deep ALL GAME on that SF defense. At one point they threw a 26 yard pass to the TE that went for 70. The deciding point in the game was probably this ... Dolphins up 14-7, had 2nd and goal at the 1 yard line. But then a15 yard PF was followed by a sack. So now ... On 3rd and goal from the 22, the next pass was thrown into the end zone to Parker for a 22 yard TD. Imagine that!!?? A 22 yard pass into the endzone, instead of some asinine dumpoff or run between the tackles. Dolphins up 21-7 and never looked back. Does ANYONE on here think Gase doesn't play for the FG in that spot? The entire Dolphin fan base is laughing their asses off at us. No only do they replace this inept coach with a solid "play to win" coach ... but a division rival is stupid enough to think the Dolphins blew it, and hire him to further ruin their franchise. You just can't make it up!
First and only victory of the year will be when he is fired. Maybe it'll be after we lose to the Dolphins again for a third time. He's bad.
We signed a all pro QB when Kotite was hired, well guess what O’Donnell’s career was over having worked with Kotite, not saying he ruined him, or the $$ did it, but he was terrible once he played for jets, but great with Steelers! Get the point, kind of lines up 25 yrs later with our current situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That was with Carroll whom we fired to hire Kotite, wow that was dumb, Carroll will be in HOF. Lol. That said the patriots fired Carroll as well, and Cleveland fired belecheat. Goes on to be HOF coach. But Gase not a fired coach doing well with next team! Maybe Kotite had little more talent, we spent a lot in FA that year. Kotite ruined an all pro QB. Not sure what is worse lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Did you notice Darnold on the sideline yesterday? He didn't have a headset, but he appeared to have an earpiece. That meant he could listen to what the coaches were saying but couldn't speak to them. Why wouldn't he have a headset? Wouldn't you want your injured starting QB to be able to weigh in on what he was seeing? Might he not have something worthwhile to contribute? I hope it's not a case of Gase thinking that Darnold had nothing constructive to add. Maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill, but it just seemed weird to me. Of course, a lot of things about this team, this coaching staff and this organization seem weird to me.
Great post, I think actually Gase worst coach x and o’s. Kotite wasn’t brain dead, but he didn’t change with the new NFL back then, could not adjust, and became stale. On other hand watching Gases games I get moments. Like did he really call that, did he really do that. Etc. nothing surprises me with gase. He actually believes he is innovative, but like in one game the announcer (Aikman) said I used that play when I was playing, I knew it was a complete hoax... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gase won’t let Darnold audible into a quarterback sneak when we needed about a foot for a 1st down and there was no one within 3 yards of the left guard. Do you really think he wants anyone else’s input during the games?
O'Donnell had one of the weakest arms ever seen in the NFL. It was masked by having a very good Pitt. team around him. Was exposed when he came to the weak NY Jets. Parcells knew he was bad news and wanted nothing to do with him.
We did it the Jets way, gave him huge contract. You are totally right Parcells knew he wasn’t the guy, moved on quickly, got testeverde! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Brilliant! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So your solution is that we shouldn't learn from our mistake of hiring Gase directly after he was fired and we hire another in Quinn. SMH This place is getting unbearable and unfuckingbelievable!
Amen to that. How do you not give the ball to Gore in that situation? If he didn't come here for short yardage situations, then why is here? Even a QB sneak would have been the better call. The Pats with Brady always sneaked in that situation and were about 99.9% successful. At the beginning of the season, I was optimistic and thought Gase deserved another shot based on the 6-2 finish last season. Okay, he's got no talent on this team, I get that, but you still have to make the right calls. This call confirms to me that he simply isn't a good game manager.
Why wouldn't we go 0-16? Who are we going to beat? KC? Seattle? Cleveland? The team looks awful and they're trying, some very hard. Sooner or later, the team is going to quit on Gase, and then there is no chance we win a game. The Johnsons don't like to fire coaches or GMs in the middle of the season. I believe that Gase will be the HC until the season is over. I think it's also the best chance of going 0-16 or 1-15, and at this point, we might as well get some payoff for having such a miserable season. Picking 1st or 2nd in each round could be huge in adding players and talent we need. At this point, it's all we have left to root for. If we go winless or only win 1-2 games, Gase will be fired. We might as well root for the pick. I don't think our talent is as bad as most here, but with the systems and CS we have in place, no one is going to make that much of a difference. In 2 years, most of these players won't be here. I think at most, only around 5-10 will still be here. We'll have a new CS, different systems, philosophies, and things will change.
