How are they going to sign him? Doesn't another one of our FAs have to sign elsewhere first?

I gotta think if Tanny pulls this off it leaves Bryan Thomas as the odd man out.
    Fine by me.

They actually used that front a number of times in the second half of 2009, and it was pretty effective. But the way the used it was totally different from the way Mangini used it.

Mangini's version was just a floating front 7 with no real rhyme or reason, Rex used it to disguise the 46 scheme sometimes.

no, because he was cut. It's just like how we cut Thomas Jones, Alan Faneca.

translation- they are free to do whatever they want.

Do you think the FO may decide to bring in Adalius and let go of Bryan? There has been chatter about cutting Bryan Thomas over the last few weeks, though I think Rex shot that down.

I'm fairly confident that Rex will be able to maximize AT's potential at this age. Belichick just didn't know how to use him, the two fuckin' hated each other. Man, if Rex can get him anywhere close to pre-Patriots form... good lord. This defense would just be frightening.

I can hear it now. Quarterbacks looking ahead on their schedules, "Aw fuck, we gotta play the Jets next week? God dammit."

it's possible. When Rex was asked about Faneca(last week) he said he wouldn't respond to any stories that had no 'truth' to them.

How would we not have the cap-space for a guy who was flat out cut in an uncapped year?

Although i trust Tanny/Rex with their football decisions and the direction they're leading this franchise in....i don't trust what they tell the media. Not after what happened with Rhodes and Leon.

Lol Rex may have shot it down but they shot down Kerry Rhodes 24 hours prior and Faneca's release about 8 hours prior.
If Tanny's got a weakness at all it's his poker face.

Thomas was solid in run support, especially driving blockers to cut off running lanes in 2009. He's not flashy and not a superstar, but we have enough superstars. We need the role players too.

When they asked Rex about the Faneca/Thomas/Ellis rumors, he did say that they had no validity. But he specifically stated that there was no chance of cutting or trading BT.

even if Adalius does get signed I can see us still keeping bryan. I know in previous years Adalius played mlb too. I am not sure if he still can due to his age, but in case one of our mlbs goes down Adalius could help out, leaving a need for bryan thomas on this team.

As good as ours. Ryan loves these guys because now he has an inside on Belicheats defensive schemes.

yeah you can almost bank on it he will be a Jet. Mainly because he played with the Pats, and Rex will want to hear whats up.

If he signs Adalius Thomas will be a team captain week 2 for the coin flip.

I almost shit myself when Rex made Kevin O'Connel, Damien Woody, and some other guys as the Team Captains vs the Pats week 2.
