You've said it all. Players on a play-off caliber team won't sit easy with "we need to see what we have". Every piece is in place for the best team we've seen in over a decade... except one. One bad apple and all that...
[White did little if anything in the preseason, so Honestly, I don't know. I don't like anything about how he throws. I wasn't impressed with his pro-day. I think he is Akili Smith bad. But he is still the only QB on our team right now with a winning record. I think you ride with him till the bottom drops out. But still only his second season with not a lot of games under his belt.
The argument that a team HAS TO play a guy because they picked him so high is absurd. A smart team realizes an error and moves on instead of continually pounding a square peg in a round hole.
the point of subbing in another qb is to avoid the bottom Dropping out…. Theres 52 other dudes on this team, and many are playing at a high level
We're 6-4. It was a rough day, and obviously there are lessons to be learned, but this season we're way ahead of where anyone expected us to be so far. The team gets a mulligan for this one; let's move on and see if we can still make the playoffs.
thats pretty feasible but is he total Damaged goods at this point?… I haven’t really watched him play this season
“Mulligan “ excuse works for the last one… not blowing two winnable games againstthe same team in 3 weeks
Raiders are just a mess overall. Bad OL, and outside of Davante Adams, he has nobody to throw to. Carr is probably the best realistic option the Jets can get next year. I've never been a big Carr fan either, but if the Raiders collapse, Carr could become available. The Raiders winning today makes it slightly less likely he becomes available.
They save $110m by cutting him this year. There is no chance they are keeping him when they will be about to draft Young or Stroud
I agree the jets will end the season with more wins than I expected and even a possible playoff birth. But you keep evaluating, and right now Zach is the worst QB in the league by a wide margin. The only person who needed a mulligan today was Zach, he reminded me of Bryce Petty out there. He was awful in the game, and amazingly was just at awful post game with his lack of accountability. He's clearly lost this team.
In all reality, they should dress Streveler and White and make Zach inactive next week. Will never happen, but if you want to send the message and hold people accountable, that is what you do.
Bro,with all due respect, spare us the Pollyanna bullshit. The fact is our best player was lost for the season. If you’re going to stand there and try to convince me that this guy at QB will somehow move us past mediocrity you’ve got a tough sell. After 56 years I’ve seen this movie a bunch of times. It’s down to Joe Douglas trying to save face and making that more important than winning. Wilson is not an NFL qb and never will be
Until Saleh shows some balls and benches Zach we are fucked. We would have won the game hands down if he was benched in the third quarter. Not holding him in high accountability is unacceptable and Saleh will loose the team.
My leash would be if he comes out against Chicago and is similarly hapless in the 1st half, I'd play another QB in the 2nd. 6-4 is still a decent record but losing to the Bears would be brutal. In this scenario, trying a new QB would be worthwhile for offensive spark and for accountability for Zach. I get Zach needs to develop but if he's the one person holding this team back from being contenders, he needs to sit. He needs to have a very strong performance against the Bears. But I've never been less confident about him than today. Second lowest point for me was at the end of this game. Lowest point was after his press conference
