jonny, I hear what you're saying. But remember, if you don't have an o-line, you can't protect the QB and you can't run the ball. Jet fans know that as well as any fans in football.
Every player in the draft is based on potential, not just the Qbs.. And contrary to what you may believe but every player in the draft has the potential to bust, not just the Qbs.
Leinart probably has the biggest chance to fail at the next lvl. He had the most talent surrounding him ... and a huge number of his completions were the result of the outstanding WR's he had to throw to. Also he had the benefit of 2 1st round talent RBs to keep Defenses honest. That does NOT mean I think he will fail ... I don't root for anyone to fail ever. I love football and I know these kids all dream of making it big and becoming HoFers. I wish them all the best. With that said .... going back to 1990 and moving forward: 1990 #1 - Jeff George #7 - Andre Ware 1992 #6 - Dave Klingler #25- Tommy Maddox 1993 #1 - Drew Bledsoe #2 - Rick Mirer 1994 #3 - Heath Shuler (met em and a hell of a guy ... to bad he crapped out in the NFL) #6 - Trent Dilfer 1995 #3 - Steve McNair #5 - Kerry Collins 1998 #1 - Peyton Manning #2 - Ryan Leaf 1999 #1 - Tim Couch #2 - McNabb #3 - Akili Smith #11- Culpepper #12 - Cade McNown 2001 #1 - Vick #33 (1st pick 2nd rd) - Drew Brees 2002 #1 - David Carr #3 - Harrington #32 - Ramsey Chose the drafts that had QB's going on the top 10 and all the QBs that were takin in the 1st round of that draft. (included Brees because he has takin his game to the next lvl and was taken just outside of the 1st) There are ALOT of mistakes here. QB demands the biggest $$ ... as it is the single most important position on the field. A mistake in the first round on a QB leads to problems for the next 3 - 5 years depending on how long you signed him for. All I am saying is draft a QB with caution as making a mistake on a QB leads to more problems than making a mistake on a DE or a RB.
