I see what you're saying. He should keep in mind that the promise made to him was by the old regime. He can't hold Mike T and EM accountable for promises Bradway made to him. He should also take into account that these guys came in and the cap situation was in terrible shape. Getting that situation under control had to be their priority. His demands weren't making it any easier on them. Believe it or not I was in a similar situation a while back. I was pretty much told if a certain position were to open up (more money, better hours) I would get it. That boss ended up leaving, and when that position DID open up, it went to someone else (because the new boss thought having a female in that spot would be better for the company). It happens. You roll with the punches and take it like a man.
Honestly, you are a better man than me. I couldn't stomach it. If I were Abe, I would hold the organization true to it's word. It doesn't matter who promised, it was put on the table (and I truly feel that Woody had something to do with that, so it should still be as good a deal now as it was a year ago.)
