Done with the circus man. No more drama. Bad enough this job is the least attractive in the league, bringing back Rodgers guarantees we get another newbie GM/HC combo that Rodgers can control like the master puppeteer. Thanks but no thanks. Time to move on even if it means we suck another few years.

Where’s the overall evidence he deserves to be back here?? ..Rogers was in on all the Playcalling I am sure so the organization and Rogers suck together

Yes, and any cap relief/ramifications after June 1 don’t go into effect until June 1.

That’s not even close to all on him though. Our defense was Swiss cheese this year. While I don’t know how I feel about him coming back, in all honesty he is the best qb we have had in a very long time, and far better than the other options.

    What other Options?

Personally I want to see them ..Fields other Bridge QBs? I see little evidence that AR gave us a good performance this year or that an older Rogers will somehow be better

Hopefully a new smart GM figures this out

what happened a week ago you were done with him

it’s a long offseason where QBs come available, sometimes unexpected anyway

    time to move on

There are no other options, and that’s exactly what’s best for the Jets. Next year should be a total purge. Run the season with Tyrod and clear out all the bad contracts. Build towards 2026 being the year we splash into the QB market with a top pick.

This is exactly what is needed. Hoping the new GM starts out the league year with a flurry of trades to get as much of this roster dismantled as possible.

The quicker we can distance ourselves from the Joe Douglas era, the better.

For the most part I am, but it’s solely based off my fear of losing Garrett, and what has been said about the locker room.

You see little evidence that he performed well? …? Look at the numbers . I’m not saying he is the answer, but cmon: we’re the jets. It’s been a long time since we have had qb numbers like that. The real problem this year was that they castrated the defense last offseason . If that were left intact… we’re talking a different story this year

Your problem is you're seeing a benefit by comparing Rodgers' numbers to miserable recent Jets numbers when the comparison that matters is Rodgers' numbers to NFL numbers. Your view will lead you to dwell in the house of mediocrity forever.

Sorry, but I’ve already been dwelling on that since becoming a jet fan.

We could argue Rodgers numbers, bring him back, don’t…… but lost in the circus of that , is the night/ day difference in the defense from last year to this year.

Let's deal with one disaster at a time. This is the Rodgers disaster thread. The defense disaster is probably best dealt with in the "Fire Everybody" thread.

The crap play of the defense does nothing to make Rodgers better.

Rodgers can clearly still play I don’t think that’s up for debate. He’s not vintage Aaron Rodgers and he’s not very mobile but he has plenty of arm strength left (even diminished) and is still pretty accurate.

But Rodgers doesn’t want to play in the confines of an offense that’s best for the team. He wants to sit in shotgun, drain the playclock and throw where he wants to throw rather than where he should throw to play winning football.

Notice we don’t run any play action under center? Why is that? We have two big young backs and for the most part an offensive line that’s struggled this year. Play action helps that a lot. I’m sure he doesn’t want to turn his back to the defense.

The Jets made a big dumb mistake not bringing in a proven coach to deal with all that comes with Rodgers. The requirements of the mostly shitty players and coaches he wants to bring with him, the free flowing interviews that for better or worse are controversial for a young locker room, the crabby attitude and looks and lack of building teammates up, the sitting on the bench by himself interacting with no one for literally the entire season.

The Jets need to move on big time.

    Good post

AR is very manipulative and Machiavellian

He was able to get what he wanted from Jets organization what he couldn’t get away with in Green Bay

And that organization suckered him off to us!

I was doing cartwheels when Joe D and Woody got him

Now all I can say is hats off for all the posters who wanted to pass on the giant AR deal..

    28 TDS, 11 int. . 3,897 yards passing, 63% completion percentage.

He was only a few TDs shy of tying or breaking the NYJ single season TD record. Only a few TDs shy of a 3-to-1 TD-to-INT ratio.

HOW can a team simply discard a qb like this? Or cut him? A trade would make more sense.

What makes even more sense if the goal is to put out the best possible product and win games is to bring him back.

    We want Aaron Rodgers.
