are you implying that the only reason the Jets want to go after a guy one year removed from back to back MVPs is for marketing purposes?
They said the same about Peyton Manning. That he cant win big games. Did he leaver for Denver late in his career and win another championship?
Brady had awesome teams in at least three of the SBs plus one late gift by Seattle which was a sure loss. Brady is a great QB, but lets not make him the Joe Montana of late rally SBs.
In addition to winning another Super Bowl (outplaying brady in AFCCG), Peyton also won another MVP in Denver (almost 2), and shattered all the single season QB records. He had an excellent run there. Rodgers a hair older than Peyton was switching teams, but actually healthier as Peyton was coming off that major neck injury. If we get anything near that level of performance, coupled with some improvements on D, we could have an exciting 2 year run.
Manning was 36 though his first year in Denver. By age 39 his final year, he was on the decline as a player, missed half the season due to injury and they gutted it out down the stretch. Rodgers will be 39 with the Jets this September and 40 for the home stretch. If we coulda gotten the 36 year old Rodgers, I would be super psyched
Fair point, we won’t have Rodgers for as many seasons as Denver had Manning. And we won’t know exactly when Rodgers play will decline sharply. But i will say he’s healthier than when Manning left Indy, and has a lot of zip on his passes. I think the nerve damage to Mannings neck prob cut a couple years off his career, and there aren’t too many health concerns with Rodgers. It’s a gamble. But as long as we aren’t parting with too draft assets, I’m willing to take that chance for a good two year run.
Well that's a sickening thought :/ ..But also not out of the realm of possibility because that coward Woody thinks about his investment tickets and concessions before the actual pride of a Championship
I think Rodgers is a dogshit human and once he’s not a Jet anymore I’ll wish the worst for him but even I can’t understand how anyone in their right mind thinks this is a marketing or PR move.
Rex Grossman handed Watermelon head that SB vs Chicago and his defense saved him. He actually did choke but it didn't result in a loss. Go ahead and laugh at the incongruity, but there it is.
