Rodgers will not be traded until post-June 1st anyway. So we have another month of this. The Jets are not giving up any 2023 picks either. It will be 2024 1st + 2025 pick. Johnson will settle with that after picking 13, 42, and 43. Another franchise changing draft for us. Green Bay will take it and move on, because it’s the 1st they really want.
don’t forget the other part of this quote… we will forever be paying a Jets tax. Even with Aaron Rodgers at QB
You means all those stories that Rodgers was going to San Francisco etc. are just ways for the media types to get attention?
I wonder why he would choose Atlanta over the Jets…its not like the Falcons have been a great well run team…if he was choosing a team like the Steelers, or the Cowboys, or the Niners or the Chiefs I get it…they each have appeal…but the Falcons? They’ve sucked every bit as much as we have So I wonder what is behind all that
He gets to play strictly edge which he wanted, while with us he would play inside more. Also for some strange reason, he didn’t like the rotation, which at his age is a blessing. Foremost, AFC is a much tougher division to make the playoffs.
Then I’m not sure who you’re calling an idiot. Douglas gets paid millions of dollars to negotiate for the team. He has the most info and knowledge of the situation. Im sure we can all agree Mac would have already given up 13 and a future 1st so i believe the fact that hasn’t happened means JD isn’t an idiot. Im old enough were I can’t tell the difference btw when people post crazy things bc they’re just kidding or bc they’re crazy. The longer we wait, the cheaper Rodgers becomes. I’m sorry that you’ll be in turmoil until the trade is made but that’s a sacrifice the FO is willing to make.
We will make sure they don’t reach 500 by beating them the last game of the season. AR will say hello to him.
Campbells comments are discouraging. The reason the Jets are paying a premium for Rodgers is so those conversations end differently
Lets hope so.. The Woody paranoia over AR retiring ..well thats an uncertainty and thats just too bad. No one knew when Brady would retire and the Bucs got a SB out of him
The comments I read were that he thought the system fit him better Campbell — who signed a one-year deal with Atlanta in March — told CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson that although the Jets “made almost an equal offer as the Falcons,” he chose Atlanta because its system was more appealing. “It was kind of crazy because Aaron Rodgers texted me and he’s like ‘Come on man, let’s go win a championship together,'” the 36-year-old Campbell said on the latest installment of “The Crew” podcast. “It was appealing having Aaron Rodgers text you talking about winning a Super Bowl together, but when it came down to it, I just had this gut feeling that Atlanta was a special place and the value I could bring would be most effective there.” What is discouraging about that?
We have been told Rodgers will attract free agents and so far that hasn't come to fruition. I find that discouraging especially since he might be here for 2023 only and all the free agents have a team now Of course Campbell is gonna speak nicely about his new team and their system. I wish him well
The more you dig the more it’s obvious this wasn’t a Jets thing, which I originally took it as. Doesn’t matter if Rodgers is reaching out to you if the team wants you to play a position you don’t want to play. It sounds like we wanted him to be Rankins and sometimes JFM.
Aaron Rodgers is not Tom Brady. There's a way to win through the obstacles placed in front of you and then there's just being spectacular and falling short at the end because something happened. Brady is the guy who wins through obstacles. Rodgers is the guy who looks great and falls short at the end.
Yes and No Br4D ...we cant have Brady join the Jets so who's out there? Boyer and Wilson on the Team now and probably out the question starters for us..but even if you got a Minshew or Andy Dalton their best years are going to be worse than AR "falling Short" So do you mean "falling short" in a Super Bowl? AFC Championship ? Wild Card Playoff round?? The Jets just haven't sniffed that action in over a decade tbh
What I'm saying is that expecting Aaron Rodgers to lead us to a Super Bowl because Tom Brady led the Bucs to a Super Bowl is a highly unrealistic expectation. They're not similar players in terms of their ability to just win in January. I hear what you're saying about Rodgers ability to lift the Jets some but what we're really witnessing here is yet another marketing push by the Jets.
