The problem is Green Bay thinks he is worth 2 1sts and our owner said he was worth 2 1st, The 2 teams are so far apart on trade value I can see this deal falling apart
The longer we hold tight, the cheaper AR becomes. Maybe AR shows up to GB training camp…. Maybe a rumor gets floated saying GB is shopping Love….AR and JD might be doing some plotting this weekend.
It was done the night before (or very early morning of) a preseason game in Cleveland, so definitely well beyond the draft. Favre actually met his Jets teammates for the first time in Cleveland.
They know what he’s worth(and what he’s not). They are playing on the jets desperation as all the other qbs get signed.
It's clear that all the armchair GMs have been excluded from these negotiations. They're just going to have to content themselves with kicking back the recliner and waiting to see what the professionals do. This might take a while.
To anyone getting too giddy about the possibility of a Super Bowl appearance with AR, consider this assessment: "And then there’s former Packers great and Pro Football Hall of Famer LeRoy Butler who insists that car isn’t taking you where you want to go, anyway. Butler told Jets fans, through TMZ, “Ya’ll ain’t going to no Super Bowl.” He went further than that, actually: He predicted the Jets, with Rodgers, won’t break .500 this season. Rodgers is a great quarterback and passer, Butler said, but Rodgers’ self-centeredness could be an issue. “0I don’t know if Aaron Rodgers is going to be there the whole offseason to gel with the top Rookie of the Year wide receiver [Garrett Wilson],” he told TMZ. “I don’t know if he’s going to be there to go to the clubs with Breece Hall. I don’t know.” Butler added: “I was on a team that went to two Super Bowls [and won one] — your team gotta be close.” And then there’s the ongoing soap opera the Jets can expect. “And then, you have to waffle again if he wants to play for 2024,” Butler said.
I'm not sure there is a lot of credibility to his inputs. But if GB is standing firm on a first....well fuck them, hold your stand and go to the draft without an agreement. After the draft, let the dominoes fall, and see what happens in the LJ saga or here with the Rams. Have AR walk into OTAs, they can not deny his participation. Assholes.
Wish they’d lose the tunnel vision and actually exercise some leverage while it exists. Instead of showing the Packers Rodgers isn’t their only option they’re literally giving them more power than they actually have by only talking to them. Talk to Jackson! Give an indication that you have interest in someone else! This is literally the most frustrating process I’ve ever seen
"Green Bay "wants a 1st round pick" in the Rodgers trade "and that's not all they want." If that is anywhere near the truth I don't see how this deal isn't dead already. Joe D can be nowhere near that valuation, surely. If in real-life, you're negotiating for something and you're way out on price, the point at which the parties agree to knock it on the head and kill the deal comes pretty quickly. This makes me think that they MUST be closer than the media is suggesting. Either that or a potential dependency trade hasn't happened yet. (I thought that might be the additional 2nd from Cleveland yesterday, but evidently not).
All I know is I’m sick to fucking death of Aaron Rodgers! If this falls through I swear I never want to hear this name ever again
