He won the presser, but it's all about the results. And it starts with assembling his staff. Hopefully we will hear some promising news of the guys who will help him.
Glenn impresses me as a no nonsense type of coach who will hold his players and assistants accountable. Attitude wise it looks like a little bit of Parcells has rubbed off on him. Wish him the best.
I wouldnt say that. I have a good feeling about Glenn as HC. I didn’t about Gase, Saleh, or Bowles… but I rooted for their success nonetheless.
That's the difference - we've seen enough over the years to not approach every hiring the same. I'm cautiously optimistic today while when it was Gase there was a feeling of dread, but always a "wait and see" attitude.
My first comment in a while. I preferred someone from the offensive side, after hearing what he said in the presser, I hope he's our HC for the next 10+ years. History's not on his side, so buck the trend, Mr Glenn!!
Definitely, the other guy has shown no form of optimism whatsoever, which is his right…. I just wouldnt understand still involving myself in something that makes me that miserable toward it. But being cautiously optimistic is certainly understandable.
I really think this is the guy who had 2 accounts that would create 6 threads each day about how much the Jets suck. It was around the same time last year.
Even if it's him and he's trolling, he's also been right much more often than the typical TGG poster, so you can't really complain about him.
I'm not sure about the site but I, personally, am depressed. Football is one of my joys and this team has almost killed all that joy.
I love Glenn's passion, I almost feel bad for him, because this franchise will kill his coaching career.
Well yeah, if your mantra is everything the Jets do is awful... you're gonna hit a lot more than miss the past 1.5 decades. Wouldn't call that extreme analysis by any means.
Cautiously optimistic. First impression very positive. Different kind of energy. Time will tell. I hope for small but sustained improvements, from two young guys that can build the blocks of a winning culture.
Was wary of the hire because it's the kind of hire we always make (rookie HC with a rookie GM), but Glenn absolutely crushed that press conference.
There were multiple stories today in Newsday; one said Glenn will not be calling defensive plays. That's a step in the right direction - I don't think a HC can administer a game while trying to micromanage any segment. My ideal setup has the HC and all three coordinators on the field to maximize communication - there are plenty of coaches available to be spotters in the press box.
Good luck Coach! I saw the presser , loved your passion. Hopefully you can transpire that passion into your players. Try not to get caught up in Woody, he sucks.
Loved the 'tude! "We're the fckn New York Jets.. We're built for this shit!" Better than the west coasty "positive vibes only" or "all gas, no brakes". Someone should have told Saleh that all gas, no brakes usually ends in a crash which is exactly what happened.
