If junc weren't on vacation, this would be thread of the year already.

I love junc's Arod stance. It is pure comedy.

The definition of clutch for these purposes should be the same as a "close and late situations": seventh inning or later with the batting team ahead by one run, tied, or with the tying run on base, at bat or on deck.

I was under the impression that this was a joke thread about clutchosity and A-Rod. Anyway, any topic you make with A-Rod in the title is going to end up like this.

A-Rod clutchosity is a joke and this thread was going to be used for that discussion however the thread has taken on a whole other meaning :breakdance:

    Are you honestly surprised though?

It's always been like that, the jealousy is like no other when it comes to Mets fans. LTS is trying too hard though, he just has to let it flow.

Shade trolls and is HAPPIER when the Yankees lose rather than a Mets win, he has never denied that as well...

I'll be the 1st to admit I'm an arrogant fan when it comes to the Yankees. Love talking trash, making fun of other teams, etc. etc.

But no Met fan will admit they are jealous of the Yankees. But it's in black and white.

What is there to be jealous of, the last time your team won anything which you brag in earnest, the entire mets roster had a complete turnover already, and the Yanks roster is nearly completely different also so it's relevance is very little, and zero to be jealous over, not like i'll be jealous over a rival that I hate anyway

How do you plan to define "clutch?"

There is no definition of clutch, which is why you can't keep track of it. ARod, Jeter, Giambi, Bonds, Glaus, Neifi friggin Perez all have clutch hits at one point of another. I really have no idea how one player can actually be labeled as "clutch" when no one can give a full definition of what it is.

    Probably.

The reason I asked that question is that some of these Yankess (not my typo) fans think Mets fans are jealous of the Yankess.
I can't speak for all Mets fans, but I am not jealous of the Yankess.
I don't like when the Yankess win.
I don't like when the Patriots win.
Doesn't make me jealous of them.

Neither team has the pitching to hold up to their top division contenders.

Red Sox and Phillies pitching depth destroy both teams by a good amount.

The Phillies bullpen is problematic. Plus, we're talking about the Phillies here.

The Yankess bullpen is probably better than the Boston one.

I am content with my 1st place predictions for the Mets and Yankess.

Of course I am. And I admit that, when you see a team dominate your team and in the process win 3 Superbowls in 4 years? And always in the postseason and competing for a Super Bowl, of course.

Now why is it so hard for Mets fans to admit they're jealous of the Yankees success?

Probably because it is no big deal when they win.
